I guess that would force you to actually do things with your life. You wouldn't want to stay home and waste time.

I hope they've got some kind of air purifier or cleaner in there. Especially in the winter with everything closed up all the time to keep heat in, well, it might start to smell a bit funky in there. :Q

I would like to pay someone to drive me around the country with that on the back of a truck while I'm inside. I would offer waffles and bacon to passing drivers.

Reminds me of the houses at Ikea.

What is the purpose of it though? How much does it cost and would it be cheaper than a decent RV?

http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/faq/cost/

Wow those are expensive. You can buy a crappy (but bigger with property) fixerupper house for some of those prices.

Actually it would be a fun project to build one of these from scratch. Make the plans up in AutoCAD with proper measurements, then buy the wood/appliances, and build.

Maybe where you live! I could barely buy a doublewide with lot for $100k around here. :(
An unserviced empty lot lot a round here would be more than 300K if you can find one.

Holy crap, do they add gold in the soil or something? lol Here an empty lot is 30-100k, 100k for the really big, waterfront ones. the avergae half decent lot is about 40-50k.

A typical house here is going for 100-200k, but anything i've seen below 200k is a fixerupper. Market is said to be very expensive right now here.

Then there's detroit. I could buy a whole block with cash lol.

I totally want one, that's pretty cool. My HDTV could be mounted on the wall and heat the entire house in winter I bet, haha.

Wow, my wife and I have been planning on putting in 1 or 2 camping cabins on our property. Those little houses would be perfect (without the trailer).
Typically, it takes between 500-800 hours to build each tiny house. You can certainly save money by building it yourself. A few people on the internet brag that they can build a tiny house for $5000. Those claims aren?t true. The trailer, windows and heater cost roughly $7,500 for the three.
Bullshit. Excluding a trailer (and constructing a building that could withstand being pulled over potholes on NY's highways at 70mph), I could easily build something nearly identical to one of those for under 5 grand.

Oh, and for whoever posted the 300k lots -
In my county (western NY), they broke the 4 figure mark last year. Land averaged over $1000 an acre for the first time! It's getting expensive!

Same here! These tiny houses would be great for most people. I don't understand why everyone wants a huge, multi-thousand sq. ft. house. Pain in the @ss to maintain, utility costs are higher, etc..

One of these tiny houses + a basement + an attached carport or garage, would be perfect for me.

Had to look up who George Carlin is. That's a funny clip.

I have met many people who are very materialistic and own tons of shit. Haven't had any problems finding places to put my stuff. Don't own that much either so that probably helps. I live fine right now in a ~500sq. ft. apartment. A small house like this with a basement and single car garage would be great for me.

I don't think you realize how small these places really are. Go camping in a camper. It won't take long before you realize that if there's more than one person, people get in each other's way constantly. Come to think of it, do you realize that the average garage is bigger than one of these houses??
