I'm trying to set up a MacOS9 client to print to an Epson 1280 that's connected to a Windows 2000 Server via a network but it just ain't happening. Other Windows and MacOS X clients can print to it but the OS9 machines just cannot find the printer like Samba can. I've tried Miramar's PCMacLAN 8.1 but that only supports postscript printers or at least PS printers with PDD description files which the 1280 don't without some kind of addon that I'm not aware of. PCMacLAN 9 claims to do this but the demo version will not let me test out that capability. I don't think DAVE works either. The other thing I could think of is using a print server but I don't want to deal with having another piece of wired hardware since my job is to reduce clutter altogether. Help.

Yes but it only seems to do postscript printers such as apple laserwriters, xerox phasers and hp laserjets...not consumer inkjets.
