Tough one: Why can't I FXP?

I have been trying for months to FXP from one FTP server to another FTP server.

I know for a fact it can be done, because if a friend I have logs in with his connection on both servers, the FXP transfer goes fine. But if I do it, it doesn't work.

I thought it was a problem with port forwarding, so I tried forwarding ALL ports to my local ip - that didn't do the trick. Then I thought that the problem was that I had 2 different routers connected, so I disconnected one of them, and that didn't solve it either.

What can the problem be? It's really bugging me. I can log onto both FTPs fine, and I can upload/download from both FTPs just fine.

some ftp servers dont allow it? are you 2 using the same 2 ftp servers? from what I know, fxp wouldnt need port fowarding cause none of the data is actually sent to you, you simply "hookup" one ftp server with anther with a temp connection so one can send a file to the other. I do know though that most ftp software today can block fxp (or any act of forming outside connections other then the client) transfers.

Come on guys, I'm not stupid 🙁

As said in the first post, I am the problem. Not the servers, as they both support FXP and it has been tested over and over.
