TOUGH camera recommendation

Looking for some words of wisdom on camera suggestions.

Carry conditions:
-fires....all types (structural, grass, vehicle)
-police...vehicle, foot, bike patrols
-all weather conditions, with "water resistant" a minimum

needs to be highly mobile
needs to be operated while using bulky gloves
ideally would have enclosed lenses
wide angle abilities prefered over zoom, but macro is high on preferred list

currently i'm using the old Nikon 4500 and it has survived everything except complete immersion in water, and i'll keep using it until it dies. But others are looking for carry cameras that can take the abuse. Price is variable and i realize "you get what you pay for". Hopefully there are others who are using such "punting" cameras that have shown they are durable as well as functional and carry-able.

Thanks in advance and hope to hear from lots of you. 😀

thanks Ironwing; hadn't seen that one. the button layout looks good especially for use with gloves on, but i think it would be too "bulky" and hard to pull from pocket using only 1 hand (alot of edges and bumps that can get snagged).

yeah i know it's alot to ask for and i'll probably end up compromising several areas.

i did find one that has several features i'm looking for, Olympus but i'll have to find a BM place so that i can actually try using it with gloves on.
