Touchless toilet

I am doing a project at my university and try to make lavatories (toilet in a plane) more hygienic.
As everyone would agree, the less you touch in a public washroom, the better.
Do you have any ideas how to improve touchless use in a lavatory ( for the soap, flush,..)
There are already so many industries where it is important that a system realizes the motions of people ( computer games, security systems, automobile industry...).
Every idea is a good one! don not hesitate to tell me everything you think could be useful.
 
Plenty of high class places already have automatic toilet covers. A motorized plastic roller is mounted behind the seat and a length is wrapped around the toilet seat semi-permanently. Push a button, the roller rolls, you get a new toilet seat cover.
 
come up with a way to flush the toilet while you're sitting on it.. without having to get up... and without having to press the 'flush' button.

By minimizing your exposure to germs etc in the long run is bad for you. That is why we have a whole generation of Pussies that are alergic to their own selves and everything else.

I hate seeing mothers and fathers washing their kids down with Purell and every thing else when they touch anything. It is killing your immune system and you don't stand a chance when you do get exposed.

Have that sensor detect when somebody is about to sit down, rotate the plastic covering so it's new and sanitary, when they are done and stand up then you flush the toilet. As for the soap/sink they have those already touch free.

No offense, but this is kind of a lame project. Most of this stuff already exists. The bathrooms at my job have everything touch-less with the sole exception of the plastic seat covers which you have to touch the button to move (or just use those paper ones).

Bathroom doors that open automagically. It's a kick in the nuts to have to grab the handle after just washing your hands.

I'm not a germ nut or anything, but I don't want my hands covered in someone elses piss and shit.

Ohare airport has those. The ergonomics are awful. I think I'd rather go in the bushes.
 
One of our offices has waterless urinals that don't require flushing/touching. The faucets come on when your hands are underneath.
Now the toilets have to be flushed but I have seen the motion sensor on those too that don't require being touched to flush.
Whether that could be implemented on a plane lavatory I don't know. I've never used one on a plane
 
I'd like some way to open the door without touching it. Maybe a foot switch that I just step on.
 
At my workplace, they placed waste bins outside of the bathrooms so that after you wash your hands, you use the touchless paper towel dispenser to dry your hands. Don't throw out the paper towel, instead use it to open the door so you have a protective cover between your hand and the door handle. Then throw the paper towel away outside.
 
A simple spring that keeps the toilet seat up in mens rooms unless you are sitting on it would do fucking wonders. Especially here where everyone seems to take pleasure in pissing on every single surface in the bathroom but the toilet itself.
 
Airlines would rather leave the lavatory behind than give up on cargo room/weight.

Think light & compact.
 
Improvements that are needed:
1) A mechanism that makes it very hard to use a sit-down toilet while standing. Urinals are for standing, toilets are for sitting. Sourceninja's spring idea would be great. Alternatively, make it physically difficult to stand in front of the toilet (such as a bar in the way).

2) A weight sensor that won't let the toilet flush while you are sitting. Almost none of the location sensors work well and continuously flush while I'm sitting. Each flush sprays crap all over me. Alternatively, don't let the toilet flush while the stall door is closed, that will guarantee that I'm not on it while it flushes.

3) A towel dispensor that automatically rolls out towels when the water is on. People always do that backwards; they wash their hands, then grab the towel mechanism to get a paper towel. Well guess what, I just pissed on my hands and grabbed a towel, so my piss is now all over your freshly washed hands. If you got the towel out automatically, then there would be no problem on either end. Alternatively, do not let the water turn on until a towel has been dispensed.

4) Automatic doors. Enough said.

5) An automatic device that dropped one sheet of toilet paper into the toilet after each flush would be fantastic. The toilet paper prevents splash back when dropping a big load. Alternatively, anything that disrupts the surface tension of water might help.

6) Touchless water temperature control would be fantastic. It wouldn't be too hard to implement either. Hold your hand above a low sensor for cold water, a high sensor for hot water, or anything in between. The automatic faucets at work scald my hands half the time and are freezing cold the other half.

And the most important innovation of all:

Double the size of the waste basket so that there aren't piles of used towels covering the floor at the end of the day.

Yeah those are good. Some Israeli doctor showed that you can prevent hemorrhoids or even cure them if you started squatting instead of sitting
