Somebody gave me an iTunes card for Xmas, and having no music I wanted to buy I decided to buy some apps from the app store. I remember a thread like this but I can't find it (STUPID SEARCH!)
Maybe we can get enough people to contribute to this and get it made a sticky? There's a bunch of apps out there, especially if you jailbreak it.
Grocery IQ - .99 got a lot of good reviews on the app store, it's for your shopping list. I love how I can sort my items by isles (you can add your own isles) it also supports favorites for stuff you buy a lot. So I just pop in my list and check off the items as I get them and BOOM I'm in and out. Search for products using predictive text which is nice since it has a huge database - something like 100,000 products. And you can add you're own. I love this app makes my shopping so much easier. It's on sale now for a buck, what a steal!
Tip - .99 a nice little tip calculator if you're mathematically challenged like me, or just plain retarded like the people I go out to eat with this may come in handy. They all pretty much do the same thing but I like the interface on this one, and it supports up to a 25 way split. It looks nice and was only a buck.
Touchgrind - $4.99 Sort of a game, sort of a tech demo. I suck bad at real life skating, and thus far I suck bad at this game
It has pretty good graphics and interesting controls. Maybe if I play it more I'll get better, I do like it, I just suck horribly. If you start your playlist before loading the game you get to skate to your own tunes. I'm having a blast with this one. I dunno if I would have spend 5 bucks of my own money but it seems like a good time waster and if you're good with the touch controls you might really enjoy it.
Rolando - $9.99 This is the game IGN and a bunch of other review sites are raving about. It's also a PSP game. AWESOME graphics here, I love how the characters look, the music is pretty bad ass too. Great use of the tilt control here, I'm still getting use to playing games by tilting the device plus touch screen. But this game is a blast, I never played the PSP one but this is greatness. Weird to explain but basically it's a puzzla game where you have to guide the little Tomato like looking people thru the levels. $10 is kind of expensive, I don't even know how long the game is but I'm loving it so far.
iDaydream - .99 a virtual time waster. You have a picture of the sky with birds in it and you can draw clouds and watch them move in the wind. You can change the type of sky (day/sunset/night etc) and change the wind speed. This one sort of mellowed me out, I drew a picture what I imagined an Alternator sized chunk of beef with clouds. As I sat there and watched the wind blow my creation away. I dunno, I had fun with this. They have a free version with less sky types and I don't think planes or hot air balloons.. It has no purpose, but it still a bit entertaining and relaxing to mess with. I tried the free one then decided to buy the full version
iHandy Coinflip - .99 Ok so I was starting to run out of apps to buy, so I decided I would flick thru the store without looking and whatever it landed on I would buy. Regardless of what it was or how much it costs. This is what it was, thankfully it was only a buck lol. Basically you chose a coin and it flips it. The coins don't look half bad and there are a bunch to chose from. The animation and sound fxs suck, I do like that you can wave your iPhone up to make it flip, you might look really retarded doing it in public though. I'm actually about to use it to decide where I go get lunch. Very cheesy app probably not even worth a buck. I was amazed when I did a search after wards at how many coin flip apps the App Store has - I would have never guessed it hah. You can shake right and left to change the coin. I'll admit I was bored this morning and spent a few minutes checking out the coins and flipping some. I'd still say it's still easier to pull a real coin out of your pocket and flip it lol.
I stopped at that app, I still have a good amount of $$$'s on the card. But will wait to find stuff I want
