Somebody gave me an iTunes card for Xmas, and having no music I wanted to buy I decided to buy some apps from the app store. I remember a thread like this but I can't find it (STUPID SEARCH!)

Maybe we can get enough people to contribute to this and get it made a sticky? There's a bunch of apps out there, especially if you jailbreak it.

Grocery IQ - .99 got a lot of good reviews on the app store, it's for your shopping list. I love how I can sort my items by isles (you can add your own isles) it also supports favorites for stuff you buy a lot. So I just pop in my list and check off the items as I get them and BOOM I'm in and out. Search for products using predictive text which is nice since it has a huge database - something like 100,000 products. And you can add you're own. I love this app makes my shopping so much easier. It's on sale now for a buck, what a steal! :D

Tip - .99 a nice little tip calculator if you're mathematically challenged like me, or just plain retarded like the people I go out to eat with this may come in handy. They all pretty much do the same thing but I like the interface on this one, and it supports up to a 25 way split. It looks nice and was only a buck.

Touchgrind - $4.99 Sort of a game, sort of a tech demo. I suck bad at real life skating, and thus far I suck bad at this game :) It has pretty good graphics and interesting controls. Maybe if I play it more I'll get better, I do like it, I just suck horribly. If you start your playlist before loading the game you get to skate to your own tunes. I'm having a blast with this one. I dunno if I would have spend 5 bucks of my own money but it seems like a good time waster and if you're good with the touch controls you might really enjoy it.

Rolando - $9.99 This is the game IGN and a bunch of other review sites are raving about. It's also a PSP game. AWESOME graphics here, I love how the characters look, the music is pretty bad ass too. Great use of the tilt control here, I'm still getting use to playing games by tilting the device plus touch screen. But this game is a blast, I never played the PSP one but this is greatness. Weird to explain but basically it's a puzzla game where you have to guide the little Tomato like looking people thru the levels. $10 is kind of expensive, I don't even know how long the game is but I'm loving it so far.

iDaydream - .99 a virtual time waster. You have a picture of the sky with birds in it and you can draw clouds and watch them move in the wind. You can change the type of sky (day/sunset/night etc) and change the wind speed. This one sort of mellowed me out, I drew a picture what I imagined an Alternator sized chunk of beef with clouds. As I sat there and watched the wind blow my creation away. I dunno, I had fun with this. They have a free version with less sky types and I don't think planes or hot air balloons.. It has no purpose, but it still a bit entertaining and relaxing to mess with. I tried the free one then decided to buy the full version

iHandy Coinflip - .99 Ok so I was starting to run out of apps to buy, so I decided I would flick thru the store without looking and whatever it landed on I would buy. Regardless of what it was or how much it costs. This is what it was, thankfully it was only a buck lol. Basically you chose a coin and it flips it. The coins don't look half bad and there are a bunch to chose from. The animation and sound fxs suck, I do like that you can wave your iPhone up to make it flip, you might look really retarded doing it in public though. I'm actually about to use it to decide where I go get lunch. Very cheesy app probably not even worth a buck. I was amazed when I did a search after wards at how many coin flip apps the App Store has - I would have never guessed it hah. You can shake right and left to change the coin. I'll admit I was bored this morning and spent a few minutes checking out the coins and flipping some. I'd still say it's still easier to pull a real coin out of your pocket and flip it lol.

I stopped at that app, I still have a good amount of $$$'s on the card. But will wait to find stuff I want

Bought some more stuff recently

Amateur Surgeon - $4.99 has Adult Swim and Cartoon Networks names on it. I don't watch TV so I don't know if this is a show on there or not, but this game is good. You're a Pizza Delivery dude who wants to be a surgeon. Basically weird characters come into your back alley clinic and need to be operated on. You cut people open with a Pizza Slicer and cut out big bones with a chain saw. The graphics are cartoony and good, the controls are pretty decent but sometimes even when your accurate it messes up. Was easy to pick up and play, has a ton of levels. You get rated on how fast and accurately you perform the surgeries. I have a lot of D's and a few F's :(

Dr. Awesome - $.99 Very much like Qix, an old arcade game I'm sure some of you remember. You're a doctor and have to save patients by killing off viruses. Has tilt control, which works sometimes and other times seems to just fuck up on me. It takes names from your address book and makes them patients. I killed a couple of my friends :( lol, oh well. Pretty damn fun for .99, but than again I use to love Qix.

I Love Katamari - $7.99 Saw a video of it and didn't understand it at all, had $35 left on my iTunes card and figured what the hell. I think you need to be Japanese to really know what the fuck this is about. The story is actually hilarious in a very odd way. Some flying king in outerspace gets knoked on the head by a meteor and starts talking like a retarded crackhead. The gameplay is tilt and works well. You roll around rooms collecting all kinds of crap, which forms into a weird ball shaped thing. I love the music, and am intrigued by the game. The graphics are pretty good too, but I'm still a bit lost as to why. I have no idea how long this game is, but it's damn expensive and really doesn't offer much. Unless you enjoy rolling around picking up pencils and Dominoes and sushi rolls. This should be cheaper IMHO.

Simcity - $7.99 as much as I hate EA, this is good shit! It's very complete for a mobile game, just like playing the original Sim City on my PC. Although it seems to be missing the feature where you can cause a natural disaster. Was one of the highlights of the original. Build a bad ass city then unleash a massive flood on it just because. The touch controls work perfectly for this type of game. I don't know if I'd have paid $8 without having a gift card, but this is really fun.

Chop Sushi - $2.99 a really bizarre puzzle game, well the bizarre part is the story. It's yet another match 3 or more puzzle game. But the graphics and sound and fact it is a bit different set it apart from most of the others. The playing board is sort of 3d and will tilt differently depending on the move you make. You battle other fish or creatures or whatever they are and try to kill them by matching up the Wasbi. The story doesn't make much sense but the actual gameplay is good. And the story is amusing if nothing else.

Zombieville - $2.99 YOU HAVE TO BE SHITTING ME!!! This game is hard, hard, hard! It's a side scrolling shooter where you have to kill zombies. AWESOME graphics and animation, very cartoony and lots of cartoon blood. Sort of a Metal Slug feel, very animated and runs smoothly. I love it, it's frustrating as all hell though. The controls work ok but don't feel responsive enough. The zombies are somewhere between the old school 1mph and the newer bad ass turbo zombies. They don't run but they seem to catch me just fine. And I can't control my guy fast enough, slow controls + tons of Zombies = death. I can't stop playing it, you only get 1 life, while you do have a long health bar. The god damn Zombies are relentless and I cannot make it far at all lol. It has very high ratings in the iTunes store. It's super easy to pick up, super hard to put down, and super frustrating. Not sure how long the actual game is, but I'm pretty sure nobody will ever beat it. From playing it about 2 1/2 hours straight last night I'd say it's 3 minutes long lol. This might be my favorite game on my Touch. Just mindless shooting.
