Touch Diamond2

Hey all, I'm a Verizon customer whos new every two upgrade is available, and either way, I'm looking into getting a new phone sometime in the next couple months.


I LOVE the look of the touch pro, but I'm worried that the gimp vzw version just won't do performance wise. I'd also like to be able to go to WinMo 6.5 in the future. I also love the look of the diamond2, which from all the phones I've seen, would be my phone of choice, but it looks like verizon FINALLY just released the original diamond (which I'd get the pro if I Was going to go that route, since i like the qwerty keyboard more than onscreen). Anyone know if/when the diamond2 is coming to vzw? I looked around but haven't seen much, didn't know if any of you phone experts had any additional info.


Unfortunately, I don't like the looks of the touch pro 2 whatsoever, too rounded and bubbly :\.


Any other phones even on the horizon that I might get excited about? I'm personally a fan of WinMo and HTC as well, but it seems like VZW drags its feet like crazy.


And for the reference, no, I'm not switching carriers (save WAY too much money by going vzw), and also as such, I'm not getting an iPhone (as I don't like them at all, and obviously I dont have att 🙂 ).

The Touch Pro 2 is better than the Diamond 2 imo but if you like the Diamond better than get it.

I really wish VZW would come out with an Android or WinMo phone that isn't two years old and crippled. They've got a good network but the devices all suck. If they'd come out with a decent phone I'd buy it in a heart beat.

I'm aware, and I'll see when I actually have the touch pro 2 in my hands, but imo on picture it looks terrible.

From my sources I would expect it in around 2 months time, I am too waiting for the touch pro 2.

The one thing I hate about VZW is that they cripple their smartphones. I wanted to get the touch pro or touch diamond, but they make it suck by reducing the amount of RAM on it, making it perform slowly. I got the Omnia after finding out they mostly left it alone (only locked GPS to VZ Navigator). I've been happy with it so far.

I would definitely jump on a Diamond 2 if they don't modify the hardware.

I got a sprint touch pro working on verizon through a loophole that is now closed. I am sure glad I didn't get the gimped one.
It's totally sad verizon doesn't have anything in the way of phones right now its totally ridiculous.

As for gimping their phones SViper there still isn't a hack for unlocking the GPS on the omnia yet =(
