I'm at that point.

I worked about 30 hours overtime just last week, and got sick during that time.

I have so much to do right now but I just can't work on it.

Yes I'm in IT. I should have been a horticulturist...

Definitely. When it warms up I'm going to turn our entire lot into an awesome display of plant life.

I've never worked more than 50 hours in a single week, and other than that one week I've never done more than 45 in any other week in my life - also in IT 😀

It probably wouldn't affect me as much if I weren't also attending night/distance classes full time and have a wife to take care of.

And I'd never have to work so many hours if I actually had help with the 5 offices that I support, each about 1.5 hour drive from my main office. HQ is under the impression that supporting this territory is a piece of cake.

As much as my job is boring at the current time, I have had the oportunity to work that hard. And I miss those days. I really felt as though I was acocmplishing something. Now, I really have no satisfaction for my 40.1 hours I put in each week.

My dad worked three jobs for a year and a half. He worked seven days a week. No days off (one of his jobs was working at a church so Sunday was really busy).

Are you getting OT money? If I was I'd probably set my own week at around 50 hours, but if you're not getting it, find yourself a new job. There are IT jobs out there that don't work people like MDs in residence.

No, I am salary.

And this is the best IT job I can get in this city. 😛

My dads job has forced overtime during outages and he works 30+ days straight @ 12 hours/shift. He goes nuts during that.

yes

i have been working for 60-70 hours a week for 2 months, not really in IT, well related, s/w dev for telecom

we have a customer deliverable in march hopefully after that things will be cool

I put in between 50-70 hours a week last quarter, on the low end. I've never been so busy and I don't ever want to be as busy again. It was completely exhausting.
