You create shapes like that in much the same way as paths, using the pen&amp;path tools. Search for it in the help (Adobe Online), it spells out the process for you. Vector graphics are a huge improvement in PS6, learn to love them!

Photoshop 6 is just another spiffy step up. The interface has been rearranged a bit (but I'm sure you've noticed that). Just play with it, you'll find the goodies.
