Total Gym.....worth buying?

My wife and I want to purchase a good quality, compact home gym system to get back into shape. I used to lift free weights, but havent done so in a couple of years so Ive lost some definition. My wife wants to tone herself up, and lose some excess weight.
Ive been watching the Total Gym infomercials for a while now, and am thinking of ordering one.
Just curious if anyone has any experience with it, or knows someone who has.
Any feedback (constructive) would be greatly apprciated.

my wife bought it before we even met (4 yrs ago) and I haven't seen her on it once It's a good low impact type of exercise though.
