Toshiba Satellite - Delayed wake from sleep

Hello folks !

Got a A305-S6898 laptop that recently has been slow to wake up from sleep. Upon the lid opening backup, it takes a minute for the screen to actually come back up, and when trying to login, it goes VERY slow, almost looking like there is a heavy process, but under task manager there isnt.

Any clue as to WHY its being so slow ? this only happens on wake, restart and it works fine. Could it be HDD or RAM going out ?

Thank You.

DFT works on all hard drives but I have seen it choke on some systems with a controller it doesn't like or on some systems with AHCI.

Did you try cleaning up the hibernation file?

are you talking about through disk cleanup ? I think i have hibernation disabled as is.

Most of the time when I see something like this it is the local anti-virus program. Presumably that has been eliminated as the cause of delay. Also, eliminating any new installations, such as a Logitek mouse, my guess would be that some spyware or even recent OS auto-update has modified the system.

Create a fresh new user account and check the system response from there,
