Wow, those prices are incredible...undercutting ToshibaDirect by 60%???? I would make sure they're in US$ first, although the company is based in New York. Web searches turned up no company information, except that they've been around since at least April, when they ran an ad offering free shipping. My friend is looking for a laptop, so this is worth looking into.

Aren't these the guys that so many of us ordered from ~1 year ago? The name sounds vaguely familiar, and the site sure looks like what I remember them offering.

They kept pushing back the ship dates further and further; eventually, the etailer they were affiliated with kicked them out of their little clique, and sent everyone coupons for 20% of a perfume order, or something ridiculous like that. I don't know of anyone being charged, or receiving merchandise.

It's pretty obvious this is a scam. The 850Mhz Satellite Pro is over $2,000 at CompUSA(it's $1010 there).

It doesn't look legit at all...with such statements they were supose to be overloaded with orders..and I never heard about them...I would stay away from them.

yep they'll come to alaska and take it from me...forget about it...

Yes, very interesting. Those price are way too low, its like the preceding 1 (for thousand$) is missing.

Another surprise, they are accually a registered business in NY state, link. Not that that means you wont get ripped off, they just took the time to register for some reason...

I'm thinking of taking a chance, but I would be checking my CC balance and activity everyday after that.

I live in NY state and any legit company has to collect sales tax. I have an address which my mail is delivered to a suite. It is PO box at MailBoxes Etc. I called the number they give and a voice answered saying to hold on and wait for different options. No mention of the name of the compnay. The red flags should be up on this "deal".

Well, Staples CSR says that they can't pricematch this, since it's "build to order" and they can't pricematch that.

RE: unauthorized charges to CC.

Would using the paypal service help protect against that? I don't know, I've not used paypal before, but I have an understanding (or misunderstanding) that the way its service works, it helps to protect consumers.....?

Greetings,

About the person who said staples doesn't accept this. You can point out to the person that the model # is the exact same as the product at staples, man tomorrow is going to be soo hectic for me, I must try this deal. I'm looking forward to some arguing, but hey it's worth it .

Well I just got off the phone with a staples CSR and he said that he just needs to get the shipping cost and verify they have it in stock (i.e. call them during normal business hours). Sounds like you can pull this off if you get a rookie CSR.

Is the Portege the one to go with out of these different models that are available?
