I really like the look/feel of the toshiba laptops, particularly the 5205 series.

However, I don't hear much about them around here. Does Toshiba make good quality laptops, particularly the 5205? Anyone around here have any experience with these?

I don't like the way their screens are connected. I know it may sound stupid but they just look so wrong.

On another note, all toshiba laptops I have used in the past have been good so I would assume this would be too.

I've personally been using a Toshiba Laptop for 3 years and never gave me problems.

I only have to unplug the battery, since it stop functioning a semester ago, but that's natural, all batterys do that depending on the usage (and I can really say I used all I could from my laptop).

I'll go Toshiba again. I can really recommend it as a brand for notebooks.

I don't know how many have been sold, but my service center hasn't seen many of them at all (3-5 maybe). They have been out for some time now.

I am going to be buying the 5205-s705 in about a week... I am going to look this weekend at the P25-607 before i get the 5205, just to see which is better for me.

I have been looking at these for months, since they were the s703, without all the media addons.

They seem to be great, and you have to go to a store to just see how amazing the screen is.

At 1600x1200 you think it will look all bad and be so hard to read, but it is truely amazing.

There are 2 things I don't like about the 5205 series...
1) 2 slots with a max of 1gb, and they give you 2x256. I know they try to save money, but it would be a lot better if it were 1 512mb stick so you can upgrade it easier.
2) 2.4ghz -- I know it's not slow, but I wish you could customize this to 3.06ghz or possibly hyperthreading like the p25 series
