$98.87

Edit: Best Buy is also now matching this deal with $99 HD-DVD players

However Best Buy is already selling out everywhere. I found only one store out of about 10 in my area that has them available.

Any word on how many will be in stock per store? I notice that it is a "while quantities last" deal.

I knew HD DVD would be first to hit the sub $100 barrier, but I never thought it would be this soon!!!! Holy crap. My used A1 for $125 shipped doesn't look like such a good deal now.

Look at the bright side, more HD DVD players out in the wild helps to protect your investment in HD DVD.

True. I think both BR and this will last a while. Fair amount of support for both formats.

1) Limited to 1 per person apparently
2) Quantities vary, with some stores having none, but those with it having as little as say 15 or so and other having maybe 30 or 50.

Call ahead to see if your local store has it. I suspect there will be some people lining up before its 8 am sell time too.

I am going to visit my local Walmart and scope things out.

I wonder if the pay more for it now and get the 'price difference' refund trick will work on this.

For the BB deal you still have the BB only 2 free hd-dvd's, along with the 5 dvd rebate.

P.S. This deal does NOT apply in OK, WI, UT, HI, or Puerto Rico.

However, some CCs and Sears stores are pricematching Best Buy's price.

Debating this, I have a morning class and the Wal-Mart is about an hour away from the university (not due to distance, only about 10 miles, but they are doing some major road construction right now and traffic is usually heavy anyways).

Do they have this model on display already where I can just grab it, get in line, wait for 8:00 AM to arrive and let them scan it or do you think it will be roped off until 8:00 AM where I cannot get to it?

Was just at my local Wal-mart and the ha-2 (or whatever it is) was no where to be seen.

Did have the 3 version for $298 though.

Could not even find a place for them to put a display up tomorrow.
Will most likely sell it out off the boat or off a pallet like they do on blackfriday.

I expect that if you are there at 8am you should be able to get one, but by 12 they should all be gone.

As much as we talk about stuff like this on the net I doubt the general public has any clue what is going on with these things.

just got back from my local BB, they're listing the A2 for $197.00. When I asked the sales rep about the sub$100 deal, he looked at me as if I was crazy. Just thought I'd share.

Tempting but my local WM is an hour away. I'll wait till BF and try to get the 3 online at Sears.

What are the chances of getting a Circuit City to price match Walmart's ad price on this?

And if anyone knows 100% that BB is doing this also, please post... the 7 free hd-dvd deal through them would be sweet.

Circuit City should match Wal-Mart.

Best Buy doesn't have much if any HD-A2s in stock so it could be iffy.

I think the issue is going to be finding them in stock, the intranet is going nuts about this deal I expect them to sell out very quickly. Some people have even gotten them already draining the supply even more.
