If you want a drive that can be hacked to region free,
you might want to pass on this toshiba drive..

According to The Firmware Page,
Toshiba drive manufactored after Dec/2001 can not flash firmware,
so no way to hack the drive..

but if you don't care about region lock..this is one great deal..
Toshiba dvd-rom is great for reading sd2 image and ripping quality audio tracks..

Nice find Joker, but Acces Micro still pleads to hook some fish and gut them with high shipping. Can't order from them for that blunder.

I have both and the Lite-on performs at the same level as the Toshiba

Does anyone know what the digital audio extraction is on these bad boys? I have te 12x model, and it only rips in musicmatch at about 9x, where my plextor 12x burner rips at about 22x (max of course).
