I have a bunch of sites bookmarked, but Demonoid was easily best of them (with the exception of one aggregator site). TPB has crappy torrents compared to what Demonoid had, and they're usually not seeded very well either.

Well I do buy stuff that I download. Mainly I use the torrent sites if I miss a tv show. I also use it for indie music and check them out to see if I like em. If I do, I do buy the albums.

pirate bay sucked anyways.

I'm just sad that torrentspy is down, but really I have stopped using them so much, my university finally caved in and started turning people over so it really ain't worth it to risk a big fine just to download some movies.

L O L actors are NOT underpaid, well most of them are not at least.

L2Google.

Or just be smart and don't use a system that actively throws out your IP address to anyone that uses the same torrent ~_~. I am not at liberty to discuss the alternatives.

I just can't stop laughing ...

This is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Define "underpaid". Many "artists" (if you can call them that) make more $$$ in one year than you or I will ever make in our entire lives.

Can you tell that I'm anti-Hollywood?

No - just that you're a moron.

When I make use of torrent sites to download legal stuff that I already own and need to backup, I turn on full encryption and forced encryption and use an IP blocking program. And I was under the impression that this made me safe from the IP sniffers...somehow. I mean, even if they sniff me I already own the stuff, but it would be nice to avoid the hassle completely.

You're never totally safe, just better protected.
