torrent issue :(

so I've been using torrents for a while now and I've primarily used BitLord but I decided to switch over to BitComet when I got a new laptop. But when I tried to download something using BitComet after installing the program, it never starts. The red "x" stays by the torrent name no matter how many time I press "Start". I have Windows Vista but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. When I tried using BitLord instead, I had a problem where a window came up saying "Can't open torrent file: C:\Program Files\Bitlord\Torrents\0.torrent" every time I tried to open a torrent. On my old computer, I just had to install the programs and they worked immediately. Is there something I need to do to make them work?

Both programs randomly started working last night for a few hours and now they won't work again and I'm having the same problem I described above.

Can anyone please help?

Download uTorrent and see if it works. If it doesn't, you have network issues. If it does, enjoy!

ahh thanks so much for the suggestion. I wonder why bitlord and bitcoment won't work. weird. oh well. I'll just stick to utorrent from now on.

utorrent sold out to the man! use the open-source halite. Halite is the king, utorrent has too many security holes and exploits, and was bought by the MPAA.
