A group of human-rights advocates and computer security experts has released a Firefox-based browser, designed to allow anonymous web surfing.
TORPARK, essentially a modified version of the portable Firefox, can be run directly from a USB key, creating an internet connection which uses a succession of IP addresses through the TOR network.
Run Torpark.exe and it will launch a Tor circuit connection, which creates an encrypted tunnel from your computer indirectly to a Tor exit computer, allowing you to surf the internet anonymously.
The TOR ("The Onion Router") network is an anonymizing peer-to-peer network of routers on the Internet which uses various techniques to bounce traffic around the Internet in such a way that traffic analysis becomes difficult if not impossible to perform. The creators of the project say TOR is a perfect example of a dual-use technology: it can be used to avoid government-imposed Internet censorship or to protect the identity of a corporate whistleblower, but at the same time it is sadly ideal for various nefarious uses.
Have fun!
