OMG they can do this now? I thought flights this long were impossible (sorry..I never fly over the Pacific!!!) Apparently we can't do the Czech thing and my sisters aren't comfortable with Dubai so now its all bout saving money and maximizing our time in India when we go this Christmas.

I guess this is an Air Canada flight on some extended-range jumbo jet...but good God I don't think I could sit on a plane for 14 hours. Isn't it bad for some people (blood clots and stuff??)

What I meant was I've never flown over the Pacific and I don't know how long those flights are (LA-to-Sydney for example...no clue how that compares to Toronto-to-Delhi)

The last time I flew KLM from India we did the great circle route over the Arctic.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Don't fly Air Canada!! They suck ass!!

Fly Emirates or Kuwait Airways! I flew by Kuwait Airways last summer from Toronto to Bombay. it was Toronto --> London --> Kuwait---> Bombay. We couldn't affford Emirates, and Kuwait was the cheapest.

We flew Air Canada to London, and from there it was all Kuwait. Kuwait Airways is pretty good, much better than Air Canada. They even have tvs and super nintendo in economy class!! :D :D

Btw, why don't your sisters want to stop over in Dubai? Dubai is freaking awesome!!! And Emirates is one of hte best airlines to fly in!!

Oh and 12 hour flights are uncomfortable. Ever flown from Amsterdam to Durban, South Africa? Not fun.

Sisters are stupid. They know all me and dad wanna do is go gadget-shopping and they're all afraid of being women in a Muslim country (but we've done it before.)

Our original plan was to fly from Charlotte to Baltimore to London, then London to Prague (stay in Prague with cousins till after Xmas) then back to London, London to Dubai, Dubai to India. On the way back, Delhi to Dubai, stay 2 nights, Dubai to London, London to BWI and so on...

Then dad realized he could save $400 per ticket if we just went straight to India. I'm paying for my ticket, but my dad is still paying for five. $2000 is a lot of money to be saving...not even counting food and lodging costs in Europe!

True. Luckily when I go to India, its usuaslly wiht my dad who is goin on a business trip and gets a free business class ticket from his company. I sometimes take his seat, and he sits in coach wiht my mom. :) We switch at stopovers though.

Anyway, Dubai is not like a traditional Muslim Country. Its more of an international city-state. Its really awesome, not like the stereotypes. They are a tourist town and lots of HOT women are there (from all nationalities and backgrounds). Hell your sisters are probably safer there than the US!! In any case, why are you lsitening to them? Go thru Dubai anyway!! Just get different seats from them on the plane! :D

I didn't think that flights that long were possible either. Like ElFenix said, I think they will stop somewhere for an hour to get fuel, meals, empty the piss and sh*t out, get other supplies, etc.

Last time I flew, we went from Chicago to London to New Delhi.

Make sure you take stuff to keep you busy all the way there and extra batteries because trust me, it sucked when I didn't have any batteries for my MP3 player and it ran out... *sigh*

Ah, oh well, we still had plenty of other things to do. I think we're going to take a trick next summer because this winter won't give us much time since I have high school to attend...

The flight IS in fact non-stop, it is operated with an Airbus A340-300 and is most likely flight 51.

As nice as that cabin may look in pictures, in reality its packed to the brim with ppl, especially ppl who get grumpy after being on a plane for 12 hours with 100s of other grumpy ppl.

Note, Air Canada has horrible service and food. Once the guy sitting next to me found a bug in his food, and once it occured to me.
