So yeah. I posted before asking about this game, turns out I got hooked.

Anyhow, I'm about the beat the main quest with my Destroyer on hard, and I want to continue the quests - I realize that there are side quests that do not end, but are there any mods for new characters/quests/items/etc. that any of you guys would recommend that would add to the experience?

I'm not sure how many times we said "It's a Diablo clone... so if you're itching for playing something in a resolution higher than 800x600, here you go!"... it's fairly obvious that he doesn't like the click-n-slash style of Diablo, so what does it matter?

It's a good game, Yahtzee makes sensationalist reviews, and his personal tastes shouldn't influence anyone.

I have watched reviews of Yahtzee and although somewhat humerous I always get the feeling he does not like any games. He's pretty negative most of the time in fact of just about everything. I think he does it mainly to be funny and to entertain but because of that I can't take him seriously and don't pay attention to his reviews of games anymore. Not trying to dig on the guy but I just feel he's not that good at giving an unbiased review. So I don't listen to what he says.

Well the ones he DOES like are typically really great games. For the most part I'm right there with him on most reviews.

I'm a bit jaded though.

Well, I do agree that he is correct on his points. The game is very simplistic and if you don't like click-n-slash games, you won't enjoy it. The game is cheap and it's reflected in the lack of a compelling story like you got in Diablo II. I personally compare the game more to Diablo I as the story in that game was much, much less compelling and much more linear.

One area where Torchlight does well is something that Yahtzee doesn't ever touch on for any game... modding.
