Can't wait for this one. After the huge disappointment that was Diablo 3, I am looking forward to playing a game made by some of the key people who made Diablo, Diablo 2 and the LOD expansion.

Thinking the reason Diablo 3 was so awful is that whoever the new team is that made it just didn't have the talent these guys did.

Fingers crossed for Torchlight 2! :thumbsup:

Note that when you go into a menu like that, the game zooms in on your character. The game is normally played with the camera further out, so it will look a bit better than that.

Act II polish is done and it sounds like Act III should go at a bit faster pace as there will be two people working on it.

Although, in some ways, it's kind of troubling. Ultimately, we should have a release date. Now, I know that someone is going to say, "They need to finish it properly!" Yeah, they want to do a good job; I get it, and you get it. However, proper management should be able to determine how long things will take or even put hard deadlines on people. There's even a sense of triage when it comes to software issues.

Yes, based on their recent progress updates, I think they have basically no shot at getting TL2 out by end of summer. My estimates is end of the year is a maybe, middle next spring is more likely, and by the end of next summer most probable.

How did you come up with that estimate? They're almost done retuning act 2, and once that is done, Travis is going to help the other guy finish act 3. Then there's the much smaller act 4, any minor stuff and the game should be just about done. Estimates that I've seen show the game coming out near the end of September.

... and to be technical, Summer doesn't end until September 21.

How did you come up with that estimate?

I pulled it out of my ass. I based it on the fact that they told us it would be out in late Spring 2011, then when they missed that date they told us late Summer, 2011. Then when that deadline went wooshing past that told us it would be October (which was only 2 months away at the time!) Come October they told us there was a delay and it would be out before Christmas at the latest. Now a year later we are hearing the same sort of thing. So forgive me if I don't believe them, but they have used up all my goodwill.
