<< I'll take my AWD WRX over any nissan except the Skyline 😀 >>

im with cjchaps on this one.. and honda has always been more reliable than nissan, especially throughout the 90's. 😛

<< Who says the Altima is faster than the Max?!? They both use the same engine, 'cept the Altima's is de-tuned to ~240HP.

There may be a weight difference, but I think my unmodded Max could take any unmodded Altima. 😎
>>

the altima is quicker 0-60mph and in the 1/4 mile.

FYI to the Skyline fans, the new Infiniti G35 is basically a reskined Skyline. Same basic chassis including suspension, engine/trans layout, ect. Link to G35 article.

Nice ride for those that take their motoring seriously.

1. I can buy Nissan vehicles for 4% below invoice. 😉 Even better, the salesmen have to give me what I want.

<< the xterra gets really bad gas mileage. It's a midsize to small SUV and gets 15/19 >>

My Isuzu Rodeo gets 12/15 and it's in the same class. But f*ck, I fell in love with the looks and it has NEVER given me a problem in 7 years to the month.

<< my engine's better 🙂

and so's my ass 😀
>>

ROFL...dood unless you have a turbo kit that is pulling some decent boost then ralli's car will shame you car like no tommorow. I just raced my friends V6 eclipse stick just this last saturday...i ate him up and spit out like nothing. It's pretty damn funny cuz my car gives up 50 hp and 50lbs of torque too. Your car is just too damn heavy and it's FWD.

That backside looks sorta silly though.

Nissan design isn't bad at all, but I haven't been impressed w/the looks of any Nissan cars since they pulled the Z's out of production 🙁

I don't know about that... V6 eclipse vs. Spec V - it'll be too close to call.
Personally, I dislike this gen. eclipse. The styling is ugly (sides look like a cheesy Grand Am's), and the car is a little bit overweight.

And those altezza's don't look too good on the eclipse. I've only seen aftermarket altezza's look good on a Prelude.

... cuz I own one.

lol. 😛

nissan owns EVERY tier

<< Nice man. I still stand by my statement that I'd take a SVT Focus over a SE-R SpecV, but it wouldn't take much to make the SE-R more appealing 😀 >>

right right, but soon the MINI COOPER S comes to the USA and takes all the others down. down to china town.

MINI POWER

Timeslip please.

man, i know i'm gonna get flammed to hell but here is my only expecience with a nissan:

about 4 years ago i wanted to get a new car so i went and test drove a few. went to the nissan dealership one night and test drove an altima, manual transmission. man, it started badly. the dealer didn't know how to drive manual so after a couple of failed attempts by him, he finally let me drive it out of the parking lot. and then... that was the worst manual transmission i have EVER driven. it didn't get into gear well, sluggish, etc... just an all around piece of sh1t.
i've read that the new models are pretty good as far as engine now, but that one experience with a piece of sh1t car just turned me off completly forever. that and me dusting my friends nissan v6 in my old gti in a little race.

<< Silvia, and Skyline

also the reason they suck since i doubt any of us live in japan😛
>>

yeah... 🙁
But if you got the $$... you can buy one in the US

Or... G35!!!
And yesh, Nissan does rock... mainly because of the 300ZX, Silvia, and Skyline.

nah. no flaming necessary. that was your experience with it and there's nothing wrong with that. have you at least tried giving it another chance though? i've driven Mustangs and Impala's (circa 1970's models) and some were bad apples some were not. 🙂

I have to agree with this too. BMW just has to price the Mini right. By the time they get here in Texas, I should have enough to make a sizeable downpayment on whatever I want 😀

Rallispec - I'd take a SVT Focus over a SE-R SpecV because

1) They handle better
2) The Zetec 2.0L is a proven motor where as there is no reliability information on the NEW 2.5L In the SpecV and Altima
3) Its a hatch
4) Its gone through SVT testing
5) Rare factor
6) IMO, better interior (Nissans styling is a bit funky)

Nissan really restricted the motor. Once you break it in and start going WOT on it, you'll notice that the second intake cam opens up right at about 5k RPM giving the car only another 1k of breathing room until it hits redline. 1st gen SE-Rs winded out to ~7800rpm and the 200SX SE-R got up to 7100rpm. The engine is obviously detuned and has no proven aftermarket YET. We'll have to see if JWT comes out with another badass line of products for this new generation.

Anyways, thats me 😛

take it to the track yourself. as for a comparison, check out the march 2002 issue of sport compact car.

altima se vs maxima se:
0-60mph: 6.7sec vs 6.9sec
1.4mile: 14.9sec vs 15.0sec
lateral grip: .83g vs .80g

false. your friend doesn't know how to drive. this is how it's supposed to be driven.

Take a stroll on Maxima.org forums. Several members are getting low 14s in the 1/4 on their STOCK maximas (14.2 @ 98mph)

i know. but for the review, the cars were tested side by side, at the same location/altitude, same temp, and the same driver. which is good for comparative reasons. no?
