i agree with their #1.

I swear, when i was into HL2 i would have dreams with the gravity gun in it...

Too bad for the BFG they showed the older ones. I LOVED the one you rode first person in UT

I used to use that thing in Q2 with a 400 ping and pick people off like crazy, get called an aimbot and get kicked. Ahhh stupid zoners.

Good list, but it really focused too much on action games. Where's the nuclear missile from the Civilization series? You fire enough of those, and you could screw up the whole planet due to global warming.

That list is very weak. The chainsaw and freeze gun are worthy but those others aren't. Gravity gun? Take the arm enhancement augmentation from Deus Ex 2 and make it shinier. Voila, a gravity gun. Rail gun? Meh, overused in too many games. BFG9K? Overrated. Everyone knows it's just a better rocket launcher that shoots green crap.

EDIT: And WTF is the energy blade there? It's just a fucking sword.

ditto. nukes deserve at least one spot on that list

nukes aren't limited to strategy games either. diving into an enemy capital ship and unleashing a couple of Harbinger nuclear missiles in Freespace was pretty damn cool

JC Denton has little to do with Deus Ex 2 and is infinitely cooler than the Doom marine, the Halo marine, Gordon Freeman, and you. That list was far too iD oriented.

The Doom marine and Gordan Freeman aren't all bad, but even the Halo marine? He was just a 3D ripoff of the Mjolnir Mark IV cyborg. Even his weapons were mostly stolen.

The gravity gun was obviously going to be first. It's such an awesome weapon and a tool.

none of the guns in counterstrike are original, they're suppose to be copies of guns in realife. and it's balanced just fine. that's why all leagues allow them and yet not all the players use them

Exactly why none of them should be on the list. Dual WSTE-M's, shrink guns, radiation cannons, and Redeemers are infinitely cooler.

the awp is the gayest weapon ever, however it does deserve being #10, just for the gayness/fun factor when you NAIL someone with it.


edit: the fact that halo's energy sword gets mention is totally weak. as is the laptop gun. perfect dark was so lame, i cant even convey in words my disappointment with it (its only decent part was elvis the alien). red turtle shells from mario kart? not exactly a weapon (half weapon, half powerup), but certainly powerful/useful. i can see why the gravity gun took #1, even if i disagree with it. the railgun certainly is the most satisfying kill, ever. period.

The energy blade is what got me. I seem to recall using a light saber to de-limb storm troopers and having saber duels in Dark Forces 2, back in 1997.
