wow, what is all this savage4 bashing! this card is great! there are some incompatability issues, but as far as q3/ut/HL goes, i can say this card is 100% better than v3, overclocked or not. the only thing that worries me is the rebate. diamond is notorious for taking ages on processing their rebates, anyone remember the rio300 rebate fiasco? luckily for me, i ended up gettin the rebates after a series of phone calls... but my friend who got this card from VA never got his rebate check from diamond. just a word of caution.

I am not sure why people are beating up on this card. Just got it today, installed it without the slightest hitch and had it going in less than 10 minutes.

Before installing the card, make sure you uninstall the drivers for your current card. Also download the latest drivers for this card. Then shutdown your PC, install the card, boot up and install the drivers. Voila!

You'll get the rebate if it is from diamond, c4sure, or brands4less. I bought this a few months ago wth 50 bucks in rebates from all of them combined, and got them within 2 months.

Problem is Diamond has changed its name to SonicBlue and has gone out of the graphic chips business.

I just bought this for my wife's PC and it is a VERY nice card for $40. For that money there isn't anything out there to compare. There were new drivers released 10/30 and it looks like there will be some support for a while. By then I'll put it into a cheapie system for a nice card addition.

Hey guys,
This thing requires shipping charges ($5.50) and Tax too. So another $10 or so. Which makes it $50 after rebate.

Is this thing really worth it for $50? Did DirectX 8 fix some of the games problems? Where is the latest drivers? Some one told me that there is one released in Oct. 2000.

Good card for $40. This card will not be the absolute best at the latest and greatest games. Of course any normally intelligent user would know that for $40.

Just a heads up for those considering this card for use with a mb using the i815 chipset. There are compatability issues with this card and that chipset. These can be overcome with beta (engineering in their terms) S3 drivers available near the bottom of the video driver page on www.diamondmm.com. It's not a bad card for the money.

I just wanted to give anyone considering this card my Thumbs UP...

I've been using this on an Athlon 600 system (Via kx133 chipset) for about 6 months and have a very few problems. Game performance isn't blazing, but it's very Good. I've run UT, Slave Zero, Kiss Psycho Circus...

The TV Out and DVD decoding works great which is why I originally bought the card.

Works well in Linux Also.

If you consider price/performance ratio there's no way this card can be beat for that price.

This card rocks when you jump from a Raven 16mb to this card. Why would anyone complain about a card that only costs $40? Great Deal, Thanks rav!

So, can you order from outpost.com, avoid the tax, get free overnight shipping, and still get the rebate?? Also, I have this nifty wingspanbank.com visa which gives me 5% off of outpost.com. Decent card for $38!

This will sure beat my crappy Trident 9880 4 meg that I get for $20 like 3 months ago. It doesn't even work under Xwindows!
