Accept it.

The new games coming out like FEAR and Call of Duty 2 will have just as good graphics on a top of the line computer. Or even mid\high end computer.

Keyboard + Mouse is 1000x better than a controller, especially for FPS.

You can customize graphics, sound, controls, and your gaming experience with a computer

You can mod and tweak your computer more than any console.

And a monitor has much higher resolution than even an HD TV...

Let the flames begin.

inevitably, consoles will reach a point where they will satisfy most people, if it hasn't happened already with x360/rev/ps3 (in terms of expectations)

<---realizes that xbox360/revolution/ps3 will be cheaper than being able to play the latest pc games

My Athlon Thunderbird 1.4Ghz, ATi Radeon 9200, and Mushkin 512MB PC2100 is better than every console ever released and will continue to be better for years. Show me a single console that has the Crusader games, Deus Ex, the Lands of Lore trilogy, the Marathon trilogy, and the Hitman trilogy. Graphics don't mean anything if all gameplay is crap.

Nice flame bait.

Ultimately, there are pros and cons to both, and it is best to do what you like.

No...A lot of people will never switch from PCs..I know I wont.

A console can never replace a good pc :p

Who cares. It's getting to be too much money on either side for me anyways. $600 video cards(CDN) vs. $400 systems that still need $1200 televisions for full effect. Gimme mid-range pc and emulators for $300 Alex.

Consoles offer more pick up and play factor...you don't need to instuct someone on what the "s" and ";" key do. This makes it a lot more fun to play when people are over.

Consoles got me interested in computers back in the day. They both have their respective audiences as I'm sure not everyone cares to upgrade to a 400 dollar plus video card to play the latest games.

Another good point.

You view all these screenshots and movies on a PC Monitor, but you forget you will have to spend > $1000 to get a decent enough tv for it to even look half as good as a modern PC game.

And for that price, why not just buy a decent PC?

Not necessarily. Just get all of your closest family and a couple of your best friends and you have enough players right there.

Uh no. LAN parties = get all your friends with comps together. Hook em up to your network, and bust out UT2004 DM with no lag.

True...but not nearly enough of my non-nerd friends have a labby that can play elite games

I agree lanning w/4-5 buds is fun

WTF is a labby? A laptop? You don't need a fast computer to play even the newest games at medium settings.
