Well, maybe it's not THE TOP of the line, but it's got some decent components.... I'm thinking of changing the WaterCooling and Power supply... what do you recommend... i'm debating maybe Silent Purepower PSU 560W.... for 10 bucks more... And I ain't getting Raptors because they want a crapload of storage, so I got 400 for em in RAID.

also, ocz ram might be better instead of corsair.
do waste your money on that sync master. you can get a dell widescreen 20ich flat panel for that price

Canadian prices or not, I think anyone short of a person w/ a money tree growing in their backyard that spends that kind of bread on a system just to play games (that's what it's for, correct?) should have their head examined. - honestly, are you trying to take over the Earth or just have some fun? If you answered yes to the latter then there's a lot cheaper ways to skin the cat.

That is a TON of money to spend on a comp, even Canadian as thats close to 3k US. For the most part it looks good if you are really wanting to spend that much. The only things I would change would be to get rid of the LED's on the ram, that will probably save you like $50 right there. Put that money towards a eVGA 7800GTX KO. I believe it is clocked higher and I know it comes with a lifetime warranty that still covers the card if you OC it above what it comes at.

Good luck paying off that comp, my main car is not even worth that much...

Looks nice. A few changes if it were me:

Cheaper CPU
Cheaper RAM
Cheaper Motherboard
Cheaper Video Card
Air cool it.

But that's just me.

I think you may be overspending on the ram. I don't think you'll get enough back to justify twice the price I paid for my Corsair TwinXMS sticks.

well, if you REALLY dont mind those prices, and short of robbing the store, most people would, then you might want to get a psu from turbo-cool, like the 510 deluxe, ($220) to really power all of those components.

You mean PCP&Power Cooling right? I would strongly suggest against one becuase you can get the same perfomance and nearly as good of quality for half the price.

actually, it's not for my, its for a friend, his mom is buying him a comptuer... she said to me to buy the best of the best.... you might think she is crazy, but for someone to look at a computer price and say it's not $$$ enough, they'll go for anything I give em.. Tehy said MAX $5000, so I want to get the best of the best of what's available.. and this is what I came up with.. (well, somethings could be upgraded, but not needed). She said she's dropping the monitor, kb/ mouse, and no speakers... so what do you think other than that? I want to make this thing flashy and run faster than... nevermind, I don't want to be racist I love black ppl

I know I know, some things are just stupid to purchase.. like LED RAM, but I think it's pretty and hopefully will perform nicely lol..... I might get cheaper RAM ( Still corsair because I hear that OCZ has issues with the mobo...). Don't tell me 'this is a wate of money' tell me what you would have in your dream system... because thats waht they're looking for... I know, this is a dream build, almost too good to be true.

What's the point of XP Pro, when Media center is the same thing... with media center on top of it...for cheaper. Also, secretly, I want to make a copy for myself... shhh!!

I got a question I have to ask you a little off topic Phreaky. I have the exact same setup that you do, except with a TT Tsunami, and a Enermax 420W PSU. It funny that you posted this thread right now, because I just started to look into trying to OC my CPU to 3.04 Ghz. somehow. Wanted to get that done by the end of the week. (Just wanted to use up my Kingston 400 DDR, and to do that CPU must be 3.04 Ghz -- 160 Mhz x 19 w/ memory divider of 2.5).

How much voltage did you pump in to the CPU? Also, how much of a temp increase did you notice? Are you using stock Intel cooling for CPU?

By the way, I would probably change the Mobo to something that is NCQ supported, and change the monitor to a Samsung 20"/16ms Response. Change Tsunami to a P180 or possibly a lian li. Tsuanmi isn't an OCing case (I know I have one). And if there was no OC, I would change the Corsairs to value RAM, or at the very maximum, OCZ Gold. There is no point to Twin X unless OC.

I actually used stock cooler (new one with copper core) to cool it for a while, when it was clocked.. Im not sure how high the core was, I just selected a random number from bios.. I thin it was about 1.75.... I threw on an Aeroflow and it's idle at around 36-38 I havent ran any tests with the new fan since I just got it this afternoon, but When I had my stock, playing FS2004 and far cry, it'd hit up probably max 62... which is high, but it WAS a stock fan... Now it seems to idle much less, so I'l get lower numbers probably.. I tried getting it to 3.4, and 3.2 but got BSOD... not sure maybe overheating, memory problems, etc. It booted fine, but windows F'ed up.

so basically, it should run perfectly find with stock (copper core) hs/f cranked to 1.75V and 160 MHz. happy OCing, and if you cranker over 3.1, lemme know what you did. I want to see how high I can go without fryin'er

I'm letting them chose the case, because I wanted to get the Lian Li V-1000 but they mighta not liked it... So they chose the case from a previous build that I made.. NCQ supported mobo? You have to have that? Damn, what did you have in mind? Monitor won't be included anymore, and I'll take a look at the price for OCZ gold, but I don't know if it'll have compatability issues with the board.. lots of ppl I hear have OCZ problems with this board.. or maybe it's the deluxe one, I don't remember.

For the other gentleman, X-Fi isn't needed for them since they have a mediocre sound system, so onboard will be plenty, and no drives since they have a dvd-rw on a previous system that I'll use... saves them from 'wasting their money' lol.... yea right..

Also, if your friend doesn't have a router and a good antivirus suite, then the job ain't done

I highly doubt I can find that sold in London. I'll see what I can do though, thanks for the tip..... Yes he does have a router and I'll hook him up with Free AVG... works and cheap....

I know that the two HDs seagate, should be NCQ supported, so it makes sense to get NCQ and run them in a RAID array. OCZ RAM I haven't tried before, but I would still go with Corsair value though. Twin X does look nice though (asthetically), but usually RAM is so far back in the case and hidden under cables, that nobody sees it through a window anyway.

Actually, NCQ is all over the market, bladephoenix. Although what you really want is TCQ if you have an actual need for high performance under heavy I/O. Which may not describe the typical home computer enthusiast, I admit.
