Specifically, what will be the first few TOP games that will take advantage of DX10 and the new breed of GPU power (Nvidia 8) we're about get.

Just as games like Battlefield 2142 or HalfLife 2 are the "hot" games right now, what will be the top DX10 games in 2007?

I plan on upgrading to a 1337 system in Feb of 2007 and I want to get back into gaming.

Spore is sim game being made by Will Wright, creator of SimCity and The Sims. Its an evolution simulator, you design your own creatures, guide them through evolution into complex species, intelligent, spare faring species, etc.

 
Not sure what it really is yet from searching it but i can say that it is NOT a "shoot em up" title.
 
Supreme Commander is really the only one I am looking forward to. If it stinks I may go off gaming for a while.

I won't consider Battlefield because EA is evil.

Never heard of Crysis, but Quake Wars and UT2007 look amazing :Q

Too bad I'll have neither the time nor the system specs to run them well.
 
I hope to get an 8-series too but they'll definitely have to release some cheaper variations. I can't afford what the 8800 GTX/GTS....🙁

Yes. I will most likely be looking at an E6400 and an 8800 GTS. But it all kind of depends just how good, or bad, Christmas sales go for me.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is supposed to be released in Q1 of 2007. With the amount of delays it had, who knows. It does look interesting.
