So I just recently watch Season 1 and saw that James May was not there. It was this other guy by the name of Jason Dawe.

so what made them change them up? I never really knew.

I like it better with May though.

Yeah and he was in the car when JC did his power lap. That has to be worth a couple of seconds...

Right... I suppose they should hire a couple more midgets like Hammond and fire Clarkson, who is a giant.

It wouldnt be top gear without clarkson. I think that dawson defected to that 5th gear show. I am the Stig
 
go further back and clarkson was part of the original top gear...which was a regular bland boring as piss car show. his style still sorta shone through.
 
James May was actually a lead presenter on TopGear before the original show was canceled. Most of the original cast made their own show called Fifth Gear; May didn't join them and was sort of in limbo for a year or so before he rejoined Clarkson in the relaunched series.

Maybe they changed because May is funnier than Dawe was. He's a better writer and displays more personality on stage. Besides, it's not like they ever let Dawe do anything anyway. He just did used car reports and hung around in the background.

I wonder if they're going to have a new Stig this year or pretend nothing happened.

Looks like it. I tried to use the live streaming on the BBC website, but you need to be in UK. Using a UK proxy doesn't work either.
 
From what I've read Dawe was replaced because they stopped prioritizing used car reviews/info. No offense to Dawe, but Captain Slow is a much much better fit to the show.

BBCA episodes are crap... they cut out a lot of stuff and don't use the music from the original ep. Torrents are the way to go.

It's usually on Youtube the night of for a few hours before it's taken down.
