[senseless madman rambling about cars]

This show is awesome.

Flixvault.net ahs a lot of episodes/clips by the way.

Special Moment:

I can't help but laughing when Tiff (was it Tiff?) was describing the valve control of a car. I believe it was Mercedes e55, or was it a porshe 911 turbo...anyways, he was railing on the japanese VTEC engine saying that it was merely an on off switch while this other car's 5 VALVES per cylinder did more than just enable vavles...it actually thought it through.

Special Moment No. 2:

I ESPECIALLY loved the epsiode where he starts out driving a very nice Mercedes around the track at around 5mph. He starts talking about how they test others people cars and basically give them back in prestine condition except with the tires all chewed up. This time he says he'll take it nice and slow...because its his:D

Top Gear has got to be one of the most nastalgic, informative, and downright entertaining car shows I have yet to see. As my only option, I enjoyed motorweek for many years, but they do not CONTINUALLY make an effort to find the limits of their test vehicles, if at all.

Top Gear SHRREEEEAADSS those tires EVERYTIME:D

Top Gear is the best TV show on earth. If only the BBC would broadcast it here.

Edit: I just finished watching the hour-long 1999 head-to-head episode where they race a 911 against a Yamaha R1, BMW Z3 M Roadster against a Subarau WRX STI, etc.

well the modern VTEC systems have intelligent control and are like continously variable or something like that.

but yeah, Top Gear is the best automotive show I've ever seen by far. Tiff rocks. I don't like Jeremy so much, but even he's not so bad.

I thought that was a Gallardo (it had AWD didn't it?). Anyway I might be remembering wrong, but I know which one you're talking about. Very entertaining, some of his facial expressions told the whole story.

My Favourites include... Bugatti EB110, Koenigsegg, Ferrari F1 vs F50, Zonda, M3(e46), etc.. they're all good.

Tiff Needle is a killer driver... I like the episode where he 'reviews' the Ford Puma for econ car of the year.... its raining out, and he has Clarkson in the car with him. He drifted this little FWD car around the track like nothin! :D

Does anyone have a capture of the one where Tiff rips apart the Crossfire? I'd looooove to see that.

Top Gear rules..

As the #1 fan of Top Gear, having watched the show starting back in 1988 when we got BBC World in India I have known and loved this group from day one.

I sorta miss quentin and tiff, but they are now with fifth gear. Yes the late entry of vicky butler henderson has got the lads including me excited just to see her sporting her latest threads....

BBC can be received in the US, you need an 8 foot dish an C band receiver and the satellite info which i have stored somewhere safe until i can get the required stuff...

BBC America =/= BBC World.. BBC America airs on Dish/DTV/Digital Cable.

BBC World Service is not aired fully in the united states, only a 1/2 hr news program is aired in the US on PBS and that too its catered slightly towards american tastes, rather than the raw british version.

If you get BBC World you get the BBC World News service every hr on the hr.

PS: I am the biggest Top Gear / Jeremy Clarkson, Tiff Needle, and others fan around.. well i seem to think so... i live breath them.. and now im doing so for Fifth Gear too.

dont worry i have been trying to get BBC world here in the US.

Maybe if we pool our ATOT resources we can get the shows faster..

We need :

1. 8 foot dish
2. C Band / Ku Band Transreceiever
3. the info from me about the satellite location and the frequency.
4. Someone who is willing to record, encode and distribute.. (preferablly the one with the dish)

That wasn't Tiff, that was Jeremy who slaughtered the Crossfire IIRC. Tiff, who also reviewed it, didn't mind it so much. (Jeremy likened the rear spoiler to a dog taking a crap -- I'm not sure how, having never seen the episode myself.)
