Decent episode, but I'm baffled as to how Europe has three completely different types of cars all getting 55+ miles to the gallon? And these are probably three of several... why exactly aren't any of these over here?

I was just reading an article about the Ford Fiesta in C&D yesterday and they were saying how the gasoline version gets 40mpg, but there was a diesel version that got significantly more and actually gave off less emissions than some other gas cars. IMO, with current technology, there's no reason why we can't have clean diesels.

There are also differences in testing methods and fuel ratings... I couldn't find any exact comparisons, but it seems to be about 5:6 EPA:EU.

It's because we tax the heck out of diesel fuel - presumably to allow states to tax truckers for road use. Diesel cars cost more to build than their petrol counterparts, but they make sense in England partially because they last longer but mostly because diesel is no more expensive than gas - in fact, it's sometimes less expensive.

UK gallon = 1.25 US gallons.

That said, I really want that subaru. Power be danged - I want to have a big, reliable, four-wheel-drive station wagon that makes less CO2 than a Prius!

You didn't like the battle of the busses? I was waiting for the double decker to flip lol.

The buses were pretty funny but it would have been funnier with captain slow and jeremy driving as well.

Good to see the Cool Wall again but too bad Jeremy gets to make every executive decision. It's funny most of the time but a volvo in sub-zero? seriously?

Nice. I didn't realize that they all meant something until this week when Jeremy was talking. Anyone know what the others were? Also, it seems like his play-by-play on the track has been kinda slacking.

I don't remember the model but it was a red wagon.

I think that the American episode (zr1 ,cts-v, challenger) ruined the rest of the episodes. Unless they're as epic as that was, they're all going to feel boring and deflated.

Which one was that? I'll make sure to watch that next 😱. I have to wonder what anti-American things Clarkson'll say next :Q!
