TG also takes the cinematography of the F430 segment to a whole new level...just watch the scenes following the "engine bay" sequence.

Is that the same old Crossfire or the SRT6?

does the SRT-6 has a convertible version? i think its some sort of roadster comparo.

There is.

But if they picked the old one, its got no chance.

i bet it's the standard. the SRT-6 costs more than an SLK... that's insane. i think their price range is between $30-40k (USD)

seeing that the SRT-6 convertible costs more than an SLK, sans the removable hardtop... and is only 0.5 sec faster than the SLK from 0-60, i think the SRT-6 is pretty pointless anyway.

agree in terms of value... but it's one hell of a nice car, and very quick too

The last two episodes have been solid compared to the first 6. Really enjoyed this one..even the celebrity. It was someone I recognized!

Just finished watching. That ep was mainly "meh."

Though I have a new addition to things I have to do in my life - sportscar=>deserted beach at low tide

That has nothing to do with anything.

I guess I'm just assuming but I thought that was the reasoning?

Because the mods don't want people posting links to TV eps and their reasoning being "BUT THE TOP GEAR GUYS DID IT"

hey, whats the song that they play for the f430? after they do the 'ignition, launch control, liftoff' bit. techno sort of thing.

love the F430, but overall that episode was one of the most boring episodes i've seen in a long time. who cares about three lame cars taking up the whole episode? they even admit at the end that they all suck and you're better off with the boxter, Z4, or S2000.

Of course Top Gear is on Discovery Channel on Wed nights in the US. Of course it is Americanized and so far has only been stuff from last season. BBC didn't care for a long time probbably because it wasn't availalbe in the US, but since it is now (kind of) I think they are tightening down. I just wish Discovery would air the straight up UK versions as it is so much better.

What's different about the Discovery Channel episodes?

Well I have noticed they re-edit the segments (seams like Discovery's are always shorter). Also all the in-studio (with the audience) stuff seams to be re-shot (or done after the UK one?) and they make referances on how to explain Wales to an American audience etc. Also no stars in the resaonable priced car.

Oh ok. I like the in-studio stuff...

As for the star in a reasonably priced car segment, if something had to be cut, it might as well be that. I only recognize the star about 20% of the time--if that much.

True...all I learned is that if I was planning to take a roadster off-roading quite a bit, I should buy a TT
