US remakes of UK TV shows are generally completely awful, The Office is the only passable thing I can think of.
I haven't seen a single episode yet.
The American version is much better. The hosts of the UK version are snobby, rude, and unfunny.
That says everything we need to know about you. The Office is terrible on any side of the pond.
I didn't like Top Gear USA to begin with, but it got better and I like it now.

Well the world of critics and award judges will disagree with you on that one. So I'm more than happy with my opinion, the Office (UK) is one of the greatest programmes committed to film.
The thing that bugs me about all American car shows is they never bash cars no matter how bad they are. I mean, they might mention an annoying design trait or feature but that's about it. For example, would any show on American TV bash the Panamera for being repulsively ugly? Or even to a simpler point, would any show point out how truly difficult it is to get in and out of an Exige? Or how about the was they bashed the Ford GT that Clarkson bought because it was so unreliable? I could go on, but you can see my point.
Top Gear UK and even 5th Gear are great in that when they think a car is truly awful they say so. You may not like their mannerisms or personalities, but on average they tend to give a more honest opinion (their love for British cars notwithstanding).
Watch 'Mad Men' now that's a great piece of American television.
in their defense, the original top gear is one of the best shows ever put on a television. it is hard to compete with. that show had a great mix of writing, hosts, enthusiasm, cars, and miscellaneous intangibles that just made the show perfect. top gear US is missing most of the above.
