i think you HAVE to take Payton over Cassell because of Payton's D. on the offensive side i'd say they are similar but Payton OWNS Cassell on D.

double nickel 55 is a good pg, he's calmed down a lot since his days on the kings. I think hubie has tamed him.

His problem is sometimes he goes for the flash instead of fundamentals. His jumpshot is inconsistent.

LOL, I just saw that commercial. The number they need to flash on the screen during that thing is 17, as in losses in a row.
 
Pgold, you are going to get yourself banned if you keep making comments like "McGrady is a wannabe"...and Iverson, though one of the toughest players in the league, is a 30% shooter, and there are quite a few players in the NBA, given the same green light to take 25+ shots a game, who would score as many points as he does...

Top 5 point guards in the NBA right now -

#1 - Baron Davis - not even close - the league MVP right now - has gotten himself in shape and worked on his outside shot - anyone who says he is more of a shooting guard has never seen him play or doesn't understand basketball...

#2 - Stephon Marbury - best ballhandler in the league, unguardable if his jumper is falling
#3 - Steve Francis - putting it all together, playing much more under control
#4 - Jason Kidd - slowing a step this year, still not a good scorer, but does everything else so well
#5 - Chauncey Billups - check the stats and check the Pistons' record

I think Payton is clearly still a very good player, but not the dominant player he was, Cassell - why are we even talking about him in this discussion? Nash is solid, Bibby is very good ( so is Bobby Jackson for that matter)..
