Uh... in order of units sold...

Maxtor/Quantum merge will make them No.1
Seagate
IBM
Western Digital
Fujitsu

To my knowledge IBM has never been No.1 in sales, Seagate sat on that seat for quite a while until the Maxtor/Quantum merge.
 
Assuming you buy the best drive they have to offer...

hmm... don't think I'll post a list 🙂 Just don't buy quantum IDE drives. I've had approximately 125 out of 2500 go bad in the last six months at work. Not like its a bad batch or anything, they just suck 🙂
 
I've always bought Maxtor drives and have been very happy. IBM drives are quite good too I hear. But I've had many friends that have had problems with their Quantum or Western Digital drives.

Never used any thing else. So cannot give any openion about any others.
