You can't compare the two. Burton's Batman was a comic book brought to life. Nolan's Batman was a "What would it take to make Batman real" take on the character.
Exactly.

Well, I mean you can compare the two but it's kind of silly. I love both for different reasons.

I have one word for you:

th

The music in question is Elfman's score, not Prince's album :p

Dunno, I just never felt Elfman's theme was that special and despite hearing it (or rather a variation of) many times on the cartoon when I was young, I couldn't for the life of me remember it offhand. Dark Knight's isn't remarkable either, I just think it's really overstating the importance of the musical score to your average moviegoer.

Stopped reading immediately when reading the title premise.

Just no, not at all. Nolan edified Batman to new levels.

Not really. He just made really good action flicks using an idea of Batman.

Love the Tim Burton/Keaton flicks.

I agree with most of the list except for two things:

score: I liked both of them. Elfman is certainly more memorable, but it can be argued that he has that same type of recycled tone and style that we now see with composers like Zimmer.

ladies: They left out Anne Hathaway for some reason. That is unforgivable. Still...Pfeiffer. damn. No one forgets that.

For the most part a agree with the list (except #8), but this is a case of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. 1st half of Batman Begins and all of Dark Knight (minus the cell phone thing) are better than any of Burton movies. The only real flaw I see with the Nolan movies is the suit and Batman voice. Almost ruins the movies.

oh look, another internet post that is an "us vs them" discussion. maybe one day the internet will learn that it's okay to enjoy more than 1 thing of the same concept. thankfully i know how to enjoy both visions for batman.
