Tools to use to check Dual Channel DDR Memory

So far everyone keeps telling me to plug the memory in the correct slots and Wha La! dual channel is working. Well, thats not going to cut it, I need someone to mention about the bandwidth numbers or software tools to use to test the output of dual channel memory. If you are going to reply, be specific and provide numbers to look for whether its in Sandra benchmarking software or other types of benchmarking software.
