I have always called Tool the Pink Floyd of today. IMO Tool > *

They will go down in history and I am glad I am alive at the right time to appreciate it by seeing them live.

I believe I just did.

But in a sense your right, Tool is creating MUCH better music right now then U2. So it would be erroneous to compare the genius of Tool to current U2.

Old U2 on the other hand ... We'll see what Tool does with the rest of their career.

Oh, and I am sure most fans know this but the Fibonacci series and the song Lateralus is enough for greatness.

It's NOT TRUE.

Tool is coming out with another album, and soon. Its not like there is irrefutable proof anywhere in this thread that shows its not coming out. Maybe not in August but they are releasing a new album, they've been working on it for a while now.

Which is what I said in my other post had you bothered to read the thread. It is NOT however coming out in August, and probably not in 05.

Tool will reportedly be issuing a vinyl edition of their "Lateralus" album in North America on August 23rd. The outing is said to be a double-vinyl effort on 4 picture discs, packaged in a special plastic gatefold with holographic foil. No official word has been released as of yet however

Tool hasnt even come out with an album in years! I find it hard to believe that youve listened to very much (read enough) and feel that way. For anyone that appreciates talent and something out of the norm, this band is absolutely amazing
(btw Laturalus was fetching amazing, and to the guy that wants to know the most popular one just listen to laturalus, it's almost like listening to darkside of the moon on random to not listen to all of laturalus)

a hint that ive found works nicely, dont do anything else when you are listening to tool, Sit your trash down, and listen to them... they have some powerful music.

From Tool's website

Text

TOOL

Across the vast gulfs of cyberspace it tumbled, one of several dozens just like it on any given day, arriving in my mailbox on July 6th at precisely 11:55 PM.

SUBJECT: QUESTION

?I know that you probably get this all the time but is Tool coming out with a new CD some time?..?

YES ? but for various reasons the album is being recorded in relative secrecy? I would say even more so than past recording sessions and related TOOL projects. Since this is the band?s decision and, ultimately, they are the ones in charge of the website (as well as being some of my closest friends), I am not going to betray their trust (although I can?t resist hiding a few things amid seemingly unrelated posts), even though I am painfully? painfully... painfully aware that there are some Tool enthusiasts out there who seem to need this info, not unlike some junkies need a heroin fix. That said, when members of the band and/or their manager decide to release certain details pertaining to the recording process ??? ? ?? ? ? ? ? ? , as well as any projected time-tables, etc., it will most certainly be posted on the band?s official website. To think otherwise is, quite frankly, absurd! This could be tomorrow, or two days from now, or in a couple of weeks or even a month from now. At this stage, I honestly don?t know. But what I do know is that the members of the band are working hard and, as the saying goes, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I hope this answers your question.

Assuming "??? ? ?? ? ? ? ? ?" is simple Morse code, it comes out to S T I T T E T T. I've no idea what that could mean.
