So if Maynard starts putting out Christian albums of the same quality and sound as Tool and APC will you listen? That is the real question here. Are you really interested in the music or will the simple fact that it is "Christian" turn you away.

There is a lot of good Christian rock music out there.

If he can keep the same level of metaphors/allegories/allusions/mythology in his lyrics while making great music, why not?

If they try to promote a religious agenda in their music it's as good as garbage to me.

If I wanted someone to preach religion to me I'd be in church.

Same thing happened to the guitar player for Korn.

It happens all the time.

They come to realize 5 things:

1. God's plan is for us to be with him.
2. Sin seperates us from God
3. Good works cannot overcome sin.
4. Only belief in Christ can restore us to relation with God.
5. Eternal life with God in heaven is a result of believing in Christ.

Pretty simple but often ignored, especially by rock stars.

Edit: spelling

Music doesn't need religion to be good. None of you are real music fans if you think someone finding Jesus ruins their music, you are all just haters.

Someone who has "found" Jesus is not going to perform this song (or countless similar others)... thus ruining their music IMO.

Tool - Opiate

Choices always were a problem for you.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow,
what you need is someone strong to guide you...
like me (x4)

If you want to get your soul to heaven,
trust in me.
Now, don't you judge or question.
You are broken now,
but faith can heal you.
Just do everything I tell you to do.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow,
Let me lay my holy hand upon you.

My Gods will
becomes me.
When he speaks,
he speaks through me.
He has needs
like I do.
We both want
to rape you.

Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life, now.
Open my eyes blind me with your light, now
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life, now.
Open my eyes blind me with your light, now

If you want to get your soul to heaven,
trust in me .
Now, don't you judge or question.

why not? thats songs about how man can bastardize god and religion for his own evil. nothing to do with god or jesus,IMO.

if maynard has chosen to follow jesus or whatever, good for him. we should all think for ourselves and do what we feel is right, and support each others decision. somehow i doubt this new developement, tho.

you guys fell for the annual april fools joke, just like every single year since they've been a band.

woah...woah...

so maynard ISN'T starting a FOX series in which they pretend to allow fledgling bands to perform in front of TOOL all the while TOOL really picks them apart and ridicules them behind the scenes?

You sir, just blew my mind.
See, that one's actually believable. But only if it were christian bands performing in front of them.

Dude where did he find him? I've been looking all over for him. Was he in Rome? Maybe Egypt? I know! He was hiding where nobody would think to look... Antarctica!

I see someone's been reading the King James bible a lot.

In the original aramaic/greek/etc., that line about "who so ever believes in me shall be saved" has a substantially different meaning, if I remember correctly. It's not "who so ever believes in me", it's more like "who so ever believes in the morals I set forth"... or something like that.

But then again, I don't know aramaic. 😛 But that's what I remember, anyway.

there are some definite retards in this thread. if you don't realize that this is a joke, please swallow cynanide.

"Christians, huh? So forgive me." - Bill Hicks
Good news, April fools fans. The writing and recording is back under way. When approached for comment on his recent encounter with the Son of God, Maynard said, "That guy's a punk!"
As it turns out, Maynard was out "location scouting" near the Fourth Street bridge in downtown Los Angeles when he "found Jesus."
"Turns out he was here the whole time, and not that difficult to find if you know where to look," Maynard reported. Apparently Jesus offered him the position of campaign manager for his new line of "Holier Than Thou" sparkling holy water, which Maynard of course accepted. What wasn't obvious was that this guy is a total drunk. It's an occupational hazard. Every time our Lord goes to get a glass of water, it transforms into a generic grocery store Merlot. Because the alcoholic is the Son of God and an all-knowing being, he knew of Maynard?s extensive interest in collecting wine. So he went to work trying to get his lips on it. Maynard caught J.C. in his cellar transforming his precious wine collection into urine, then pissing it into the empty "sparkling holy water" bottles for the eventual sale to all those people who bought, read, and embraced "The Celestine Prophesy." Tragic.
"Truth be told," Maynard confessed, "I wasn't feeling top notch when I found him. The evening prior to the day in question I had over-indulged in a series of bad Molotov shrimp cocktails with a side of Makers Mark and twin strippers. So after an entire night of G.I. Blowouts, hot/cold sweats, and blurred vision, it's very possible that the guy I met wasn't even Jesus at all. For all I know, it was Willem Dafoe."
