Took some golf lessons today

I went to this place that specializes in club fitting and golf training using video capture equipment..

Basically I swung in front of a video camera and my swing was captured by their system.

the instructor pointed out how my arms were overextended, my posture too upright, and me being wayy too close to the ball.

I hope I can tweak my swing soon and break 80 for the first time 😀😀

The first time I went to a driving range, I managed to put a golf-ball-shaped depression on the near side of the driver head. Don't ask. I think it was next week I got a restraining order forbidding me from getting within 100 yards of a golf course...

whoa are u superman? how is that even possible

Don't pay too much attention to the video analysis ... you'll have some things to think about, but if you think of all of them at once, it'll be rough for a long while.

well the nice thing about this video analysis is the instructor points out what I should be working on by drawing lines on my swing plane. If my backswing is out of whack then an alarm would go off.

I find golf boring...in fact, I even get bored with minature golf after about 5 holes.

I find this the very opposite

golf is never boring to me. no two course is the same, hell even if u keep playing on the same course.. u always have ur best score to chase.

I suck at golf. I do, however, love to play it. We have some great courses around here, and I can get in most of them for $10 or under.

Hang in there, it will take quite some time to break 80. Breaking 80 is a huge milestone, once you make it your only a few months dedicated practice from breaking par🙂

Practice, practice, practice and practice some more. Especially on your short game and putting, thats where the strokes are.

My best advice, work on accuracy and forget about distance at this point. Shorten your swing if neccesary, and work on your tempo. Shooting low scores is about hitting fairways and greens, and getting up and down when you don't.

Too many high handicap golfers focus on hitting 300yd tee shots and making birdies. Birdies are an uplanned benifiet of hitting good golf shots. Learn to hit fairways and greens in regulation and become consistent in making pars, and the birdies will come.

Good advice.

the short game will make or break you..

long drives really do you no good, unless you are playing on a really, really long course...

i love golf... 🙂

good thing your working on fixing your swing...

i am currently counting the hours before i can leave my office and go to the range and play with my new babies (purchased a whole new set of clubs over the weekend)...

What kind?

Seeing your swing on video for the first time is a very traumatic experience. It never looks like you expect it to look. Hang in there and keep working. In the short term things might get a little worse as you're forced to forget much of what you know and learn to do things right, but eventually it'll start getting better.
