always loved that generation RX7.. but no manual on that particular car... deal breaker..

but I've always wanted one as well.

He is about to swap in an LS7 and Im going to buy his built LS1 and maybe later down the line pick up an LS2 block and swap on his heads, we will see.

They really don't make that great power. For power to "displacement" ratio yes but that means nothing. The RX-7 had to have forced induction to be competitive. Look at the NA RX-8, still slow.
 
Very cool car and great find! If you do the engine swap post up lots of pics for us. And vids. And dyno sheets. And quarter mile times. Ok I think thats everything.

Oh I almost forgot, pics of gf, wife or hookers and blow scantily clad and laying on car.

Not only is it a super rare 95 but its got to be one of the cleanest rx7s I have ever seen, the 63 year old man I bought it from really took care of it. There is two downsides however; the intake manifold gasket is leaking and it is an automatic but for what Im going to be doing, it being auto doesnt matter, plus at that price, its ok.

I am jealous. That car is a steal at 8500. You did damn well for yourself. I looked for one for a couple months this past yr and gave up and bought an evo IX instead. Seemed a better choice considering the winters here and I have a two seater, RWD, twin turbo car already. Still the FDs are timeless. I have a good mechanic that is a rotatory nut. I would likely keep it rotary. That said: V8 swap is cool, keeping the rotary is cool. So much potential no matter which way you go.

I will own one, one day
 
LS1 engine can make more power than that car can handle. You will not need an LS2 and the LS1 will weigh a bit lighter as well. Also very easy to mod for very good hp numbers .. check out LS1tech.com ... great forum, lots of info to be had.

No actually, I owned 2 RX7's, the 12a engine, early 80's, and they were a blast to drive. Got one for $300.00 for parts and my DD was a copper GSL I paid $50.00 for because the guy couldn't get it to run right. I adjusted the carb and drove it away from his driveway. It had a small bit of body damage, but I replaced the hood and front fenders and just drove it. Fun car, very light, very agile. I liked it better than the 280zx I had before it.
 
My brother-in-law just finished his RX-7 FD build with an Aspec 500r turbo kit and got it tuned by Steve Kan. He's still planning to get new wheels and a wide body kit in the future.
 
Yes, they can put an LS3 in there. But an LS1 will provide plenty of power to weight ratio and LS1 engines are dirt cheap and very reliable.

those rims look like volk av3's, if so you can sell them and get some cash back on those
as they're discontinued rims.

outside of being auto, great price, i will own one someday 😀

They arent Volks, they are some shitty knock offs, of knock offs of knock offs.

Or as my friend calls them, Inception threes...theres three levels of knock offs.
 
Beautiful car. I've always heard people complain that they need an oil tanker to follow them around because the rotary loves to eat oil.
 
Aww I thought they were real Volks too! Usually older people with older sports cars had parts on them that were real and vintage too, like AV3's.

Too bad they're fake, they're the right age to fit the style of the car. Get some nice TE-37's and call it a day. 🙂

Got my RX-7 in September of 1978, it went 270,000 miles without a problem on the engine or burning oil. Very reliable engine at the time.
