Ignorance/bad experience with a bad one. But, hey, MD's get a free pass.
You know what they call the guy who finishes last in his class in medical school...
Doctor
Because you've thoroughly examined him and noted that he doesn't have any other symptoms, right? We all know people never leave anything pertinent out on the internet or when visiting a doctor.
No he doesn't. Chiropractors are fake wannabe doctors who are basically scam artists and con men. A fucking chiropractor isn't going to know what the fuck needs an MRI or "neuro consult". All they do is pop and crack some shit and "re-align" you and other bullshit. Oh sure it may feel good. A fucking massage feels good too but a while after you're done with either the effects are gone. You must be fucking kidding me. Chiropractor. Ha!
I know from experience that most doctors will not take head trauma seriously unless you have visible signs of injury (i.e. pupil dilation, surface bleeding, unconsciousness). An ex-girlfriend once took me to an urgent care center after I took a knee to the temple in a soccer game, because I was nauseous, rambling semi-incoherently, and couldn't remember her name. The doctor sent me home with a painkiller and an anti-nausea prescription after shining a light in my eyes a couple times...so I'm told....my memory of the experience is somewhat hazy.
Unless your symptoms are getting worse, there's probably nothing you can do but rest, and take some tylenol. *Don't* play until you are symptom-free; if you have a concussion, and get hit in the head again in a short time frame, you are going to hate your life for a few months.
lol
There are some Chiro's that are Quacks but so are some Doctors. I have had a bad experience with my first Chiro and a great one with the Chiro I go to now.
Never had a high opinion of them either until last November. Back flipped out and I couldn't stand. Hips/l4/l5/sacrum. My guy has helped tremendously.
Mentioned I had one during a visit. Snap, fixed instantly. Tenderness at the vertebra but fixed. I'll pay gladly $20 the next time.

I would have if my wife hadn't already set me up. Posted it in H&F. PMed you and S.C., thanking you both for your input there.yup
if i remember correctly, you contacted me on pm for some help finding a good one in your area, right?
What do you base that on?Saying he should see a chiro is equivalent to telling him to visit a voodoo priest. Is a freaking back massage relaxing? Yes. Is it going to cure cancer? No.
Why'd you go?Didn't weigh in on the chiro yet
Been maybe 5 times, got "adjusted"... Liked. I guess. *shrug*

The chiro that treated my mom took a shit-ton of x-rays and pored over them for quite a while. So did the MD's who FAILED to treat her.
Sounds like science to me.
He spotted the problem, the MD's did not.
It is like any good mechanic, see the problem, take steps to fix it, take more x-rays. It is not rocket science really. Just a different approach and some good skills at talking to patients. Are there bad chiros? Oh yeah, just like there are some seriously deficient doctors.
I have no doubt a good chiropractor could get the OP into better shape faster than anyone else.
i find it funny that you would equate chiropractic with voodoo, considering how voodoo isn't covered by insurance.
Curious, had it done?IIRC accupuncture is covered by insurance too, and that shit doesn't work.

My mom had these killer migraines that kept her from work. Nothing ever kept her away from work before.
Turns out she had hit her head in a car accident several months before. Nobody found it but the chiro. She never had one again after the first adjustment, but he kept working it for a few months to get it straight on the x-rays.
