Well, I had gone thru 5 P4 cpu's, with my goal being 3Ghz.
I would buy a CPU, run it for a while, sell it and buy another.
1.6A, 1.8A, 2.26, 2.4, 2.53, and now....
A 2.66 C-1

I am figuring I would be happy w/ 3Ghz.
the others all hit 2400-2900 pretty easily

ABIT IT7MAX, Corsair3500, etc...

So I slap this one in at default voltage, set it to 150FSB
and 3Ghz. boots right into Windows, I run 50 loops of Sandra Burn - in and no lockups. Nice, I got 3000Mhz.

Well,of course I wanna see what it will do, so I bump up 5mhz. FSB, 100Mhz at a time...and to make a long story short, I am currently running at
175FSB = 3,500 MHZ.
at 1.55 actual vcore on air cooling (vantec Aeroflow)

I am getting 3450Mbs+ Memory speeds, and 14000+/17000+ in the Multimedia bench

Looks like I can live with this one for a while.
Heheh

So all the time was worth it!!!
well, I hope it was anyway...
= )

Very Nice.

I have to go CPU hunting myself.

I am getting jealous of other peoples overclocks now.

I have a 2.66@3100, a 2.53@3040, and a 2.4@3060.

Gonna try to track down a VID chip at a show tomorrow and see if I can touch 3300-3400 or so in my 8INXP.

Who you kidding T-man as you are already sniffing 4GHz by reaching the 1/2way point ;)...I remember when I 1st started some serious OCing and told myself that 266MHz to 333MHz would be my happy point for a while ...Happy Point seemed to be the Starting Point of some extremes stuffs :D

you know it LED!

When I got to my "happy point", it was kinda anti-climactic and have been seeking a chip that can do more....more...more.

Really - I just picked up another 2.53 SL6S2 OEM from Fry's yesterday.

I guess we will see how it does later today.

Just not happy with Three and Half Ghz :disgust:

All I want is 200fsb on this 2.53 = 3.8Ghz :p

Is that to much to ask??? ;)

What I like is you can't even BUY a 3.5, and a 3.06 is $550
