That new supersimplified form for us poor people is really nice and simple. With an income slightly below $12k, I am getting a $358.55 return. That should be enough to pay for Windows 7 when it is released.

Gonna photocopy and mail this tomorrow.

Lucky you. We owe close to $7k according to Turbo Tax. Lets see how much better my tax professional does 🙁

it took me nearly 8 hours, but 7 and a half of those were spent waiting in line with a bunch of immigrants. Last time I go to a tax preparer on my in-laws recommendation..

Also, below 12K? geez, get a job that's above poverty level.. What do you do for a living? jizz-mopper?

$7,000? Sounds like you need a different look at your W-4.

I am permanently disabled. My sole income this year was my pension from the Ontario Disability Support Programme.

Next year I'll have to use a general form because I did some translation work in the first two weeks of January and will therefore have an extra $2k to report.

Look into jizz-mopping. I hear they have excellent benefits.

I use the french version of UFile.ca and it's so great to type your numbers and let the system do the math. Much easier when you want to try different options with your RRSP. Took me about an hour, basically I only have my T4 form, and an RRSP. I've also got my medical fees but RL-4 but the amounts are too low to actually get a refund. Well worth the $12.95!!!

I'm putting 100% of my refund in my RRSP. I'm proud of the fact that I managed to put $8200 in my RRSP this year (including the upcoming tax refund). And no I'm not making a bunch of money like a lot of people here.

What do you mean a "different look"

TurboTax pulled the information directly from my and my wife's employer, so I couldnt have made a typo. I file jointly with the wife, we hardly have any deductions, and I did about $3,000 side computer work (1099-MISC) and made about $3,000 in interest from savings account.

took me very little time using TurboTax.

I got about $3k back from the govt, due to low income and high tuition!

My gym membership for the year is paid for, and then some!

no, he means you need to look at your w-4 and probably have more money taken out of your paycheck for taxes.

Took me 2 days at 3 hours a piece to do it my first time ever last year. Then someone showed me a tax program, and it took less than an hour... I got all my forms, just got to get off my ass to do it.

i've used taxact.com for the past 3 years and it's pretty simple. but then again, i don't own a house, have a wife, have kids, etc...it's just really simple stuff for me.
