Too much win [or fail]? Woman crashes into parked classic car, destroys it

Are classic cars expensive to repair these days? When I was younger my Dad got in an accident with his 68 corvette (all original), and it was less than $3000 to replace most of the front end and half of the side with parts from another 68 vette from the junkyard. (Although, he had no frame damage)

The cost of "classic" cars in the want-ads is usually around the $5000 mark, even in good condition. I'm not sure how rare this particular car is though.

Try watching the Mecum Classic Car auctions and other related shows on HD Theatre, a Discovery Network channel. You will be surprised. A lot depends on if the cars contain original iron or reproduction parts too.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering where this happened exactly. I know where Cerritos is but just because she bought her car there doesn't mean that's where this happened.

True but she's Asian and a bad driver, so Cerritos is a safe assumption 😀 When I'm driving in parts of Cerritos I imagine it's what it would be like to drive in a 3rd world country with horrible ass drivers.b31

Ah-ha figured it out. It was in the Home Depot parking lot, straight across Cerritos College bordering Bellflower on Alondra blvd. I know I had seen those building design structures and had passed it before, just couldn't put my finger on where it was.

Imagine that! A couple of Limey wankers have no appreciation for Classic American iron

Had it been an old DB5 or Morris Minor you guys would be crying in that luke warm swill you call beer

Morris Minor's suck

Are you honestly trying to tell me that in America that box in the OP is comparable to a DB5?!

Firebird not a muscle car? Hahaha...

Technically, it's not. See here

Aston-Martin DB5
Top Speed: 145 mph (233 km/h)
0–60 mph (97 km/h) Acceleration: 7.1 s

Pontiac LeMans GTO
Top Speed: 114mph (182.4 km/h)
0–60MPH (0–97 km/h) 5.8 seconds

The Aston wins on top speed, but the Goat is significantly faster.

I can't believe how the Lexus basically drove through the side of it. So much for solid frame vehicles being so safe, if you're side swiped, you're dead.

The GTO was parked next to a curb. The idiot woman jumped the curb and thus crashed into the door of the the GTO above the frame. Had both vehicles been at street level the result would have been different.

OOPS, looking at the picture once again I guess that is just a LeMans and not a GTO.

That's what makes it more impressive. Flying Brick! The Aston's ... just an Aston. I'm not real impressed by tiny, heavy, underpowered cars.

Meh. Power does nothing for me, I'd rather have something slow and beautiful than fast and ugly.

Same thing happened to my car but the driver was a 75 year old jewish guy. Cops say insurance companies make a lot of money with these types of people and are in on it with the dmv and lax licensing.

Yea I had a 75 Monza that some girl rear-ended. I was pissed as I was about to drive my daily car but wanted to to take my fun car.
No frame damage so I got enough money but had to fix myself. I was in the middle of fixing it up so not as bad.

In this case I am 100% sure the womans insurance company will try and screw with him. I hope he had extra classic insurance on it and was appraised as well. The car looked perfect, even the paint.

FTFY. Most AZN men are very skilled drivers, especially the ones who drive ricers.

Only in their minds...everyone else knows the truth...Asians of both sexes can't drive...but the wimmenz, especially the OLD wimmenz...should never be allowed near a car.

Have you seen the way old cars are made? People think of them as "tanks", but they're little more than rolling soda cans.

Today's cars are the true "tanks" on the road. The Lexus likely wasn't even going fast enough to trip the airbag sensor, yet it was enough to turn the Lemans into a junkpile. Just look at how little damage the Lexus has (relatively speaking).
yeah those old cars were fvcking coffins no doubt about it. Do not want in a car accident.
She was purposefully pressing the accelerator pedal after going over the curb?
Same way this person did this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvW71FIGqcY
I know the car in this test is a bit older, but front crumple zones aren't exactly something that those old cars excelled at either:
