Too much win [or fail]? Woman crashes into parked classic car, destroys it

How is it even possible to generate enough speed in a parking lot to cause that much damage? Maybe if she did it on purpose, or just kept her foot nailed to the floor on the accelerator. Incredible!

old lady hit the salon next to the pizza place i worked at as a teen. she popped the curb in a cadillac, went through the window, the couch, sign in desk and the barrier behind that, ending up pushing the first row of chairs about 3 feet. she said she put on the brakes but they werent working, so she pressed harder. and harder. turns ouot she had her foot on the gas and didnt realize it.


WAY bummer for both of those cars, but if she had been on even ground i doubt she would have driven through the doors. she would have hit the frame and stopped.

The cost of "classic" cars in the want-ads is usually around the $5000 mark, even in good condition. I'm not sure how rare this particular car is though.

That car was in excellent condition it looked like. Depending on what year/what was done, it could have easily been worth $15,000-$20,000. Some of them are worth far more. I was looking at a 1969 Camaro that was a frame-up restoration. $65,000 they wanted for it.
 
When something like this happens, drivers license should be automatically revoked. No work permit. Nothing. Never allowed to drive a car again. But nobody was hurt so haha just a funny accident. Never mind the fact that she could have killed many many people if circumstances had been slightly different.

Amen. When I had a firebird, I couldn't keep track of the number of ricers that would pull up next to me and rev (or whine is more like it) and try to race me. I didn't even have it built up and I would smoke them. Not to mention that wasn't even a true "muscle" car.

People can laugh about their crappy safety etc... However, a classic american muscle car is a thing of beauty.
 
There's also fun stuff under the hood in many vehicles that, in a head-on, the engine/transmission is pushed down under the car instead of into the passenger compartment.

Have you seen the way old cars are made? People think of them as "tanks", but they're little more than rolling soda cans.

Today's cars are the true "tanks" on the road. The Lexus likely wasn't even going fast enough to trip the airbag sensor, yet it was enough to turn the Lemans into a junkpile. Just look at how little damage the Lexus has (relatively speaking).

Yup, a lot of the damage in the seventh picture (of the lexus) is the result of the lexus backing out of a twisted piece of sharp metal.

Awhile ago I was with some friends who were trying to console this one girl who had a minor fender bender. He was telling her he was trying to reverse when in fact he was using the accelerator and plowed his car straight into some storefront...he was wondering why he wasn't stopping so he kept applying more and more pressure to the gas pedal.

I was laughing because I thought he made it up and thought it couldn't be true. When it actually, uh, was true.

Care to guess age and race?

this is odd. Asians in Asia drive well. Well, they drive crazy but have no problem weaving and being super aggressive. I've seen the decent cab drivers, and the crazy ones.

But last week I had the craziest driver ever. He's not the one who cuts everyone off, the typical definition of an crazy Asian cab driver. He drove at 20mph on the road everywhere. We were getting passed left and right on the expressway. When he picked us up at the train station he hit a curb because he couldn't make a good right turn. He was clueless and my uncle said "maybe you wanna bakc up a bit." The gate attendant ran out and was like "Dude you're doing it wrong." Instead of turning and backing up, he backed straight up and almost hit the car behind us. Plus it didnt fix the curb issue, so he went forward and hit the curb again. The gate attendant was freaking out and so the cab driver floored it and drove over the curb.

I swear he was on drugs or something. I took a picture of his license and had my cell phone in hand in case something went wrong. Also he stayed on 2nd gear the whole time on an auto transmission. On top of that he did the gas/release over and over again. I felt like I was getting sick in the car. It was worse than the boat ride I took in open seas. Terrible.

How is the asian cab driver crazy? It seems like the risky drivers should be labeled crazy, this one is just not able to drive.

Difficult to say about the car next to the LeMans. That car looks like a custom job and those are notoriously difficult to price.

The LeMans itself is probably worth mid-20's if it was in decent shape. Maybe into the 30's or 40's if it was perfect and had some very unusual options.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering where this happened exactly. I know where Cerritos is but just because she bought her car there doesn't mean that's where this happened.
