Too much Thermal Grease???

fine fine.. ill post pics WHEN i get me some rubbing alcohol...cant seem to find it anywhere, cant find it at my drugstore or anething. :(
for any of u canadians, know where i can find some isopropyl alcohol??

Nonsense, every drugstore should carry it. Ask for it by it's generic name "Rubbing Alcohol". ;)

The size of rice is for like Xps. For atlhon 64's with heat speaders I always used a half of goya bean.

I always smooth a almost microscopic (well not really) layer over the cpu with a plastic toothpick as it rests in the socket. Isn't that the right way. Too much grease is always worse heat transfer wise than direct contact with the heatsync.

I think what happenned here was that the CPU was a horny dog found a bitch cpu socket. Soon you will have a dozen of cpu puppies. Now isnt that nice?
