Too much caching with Safari 1.0. No page ever updated on these forums.

It doesn't happen with IE 5.2 on the Mac or Camino, but it happens with the recently non-beta'd Safari 1.

Basically, no page is ever updated - it's always loaded from the cache, unless I force a refresh of the page, or relaunch the app. This doesn't happen with other sites.

I don't see any setting with regards to the cache in the software preferences.

Scratch that. If I post a message it's refreshed, but otherwise if I'm just reading the forum it seems to always be loaded from the cache.

have you looked for a way to turn said cache off? or reduce the cache?

Hmm, sounds like a potential problem to complain to Apple about. Does this happen to anyone with Konqueror? (just trying to see if it's a KHTML problem or an Apple-specific problem)

Eug, I've never noticed that on the AT forums myself with Safari 1.0. Are you sure it isn't just you?

Not sure, but it seems some people are having somewhat similar problems as shown in that link. (I don't know if their problem is the same thing though.)

Setting up Safari to accept all cookies doesn't help either.

I'll try running Safari Enhancer to disable the cache.

So I deactivated the cache completely with Safari Enhancer 2.05. Works now. But this is a 3rd party app, not an Apple program.

I run into the same problem using Safari...I've heard others complain about it too. I'm thinking it's definately a Safari problem! Where do you Safari Enhancer?

MacUpdate.

I have noticed this problem too after someone else mentioned it to me last night. It's definitely a problem.

i've noticed this too. also, I will get a flashing PM message on the front page, and it will not go away because wheni click it, the new message does not appear for some strange reason. I'll reload to my hearts content to get nothing.

FYI AT forums work fine under Konqueror 3.1, so I doubt it's KHTML.
Does your keyboard navigation work? Mine doesn't. I've filed this bug about it.

Nope, I have that problem as well.
I've been too lazy to figure out exactly what did it, though I suspected it had something to do with the key-events.

Good thing everyone isn't as lazy as me :)
