For the past two weeks, I had my temps hitting 50c with my cpu running at stock and -.1v! I couldnt figure out why! I threw lots of different hsfs at it, with no improvement.. Then I just too the hsf off and cleaned my chip off of AS3 completely. Then I just added a small dab of it on the core and threw my AX7 back on. Boom. Temps were at 40C. Its amazing that too much AS3 can be detrimental. Anyhow, now I am running at 47C idle at 1644 (137x12) :) It makes a difference guys. Watch that AS3. Just a dab'll do ya.

A dab about the size of a BB. Like for an air gun. then spead it around so it cover the entire core of your cpu (the raised part)

A dab about the size of a BB.

Still too much. Follow the instructions that HP posted the link for. When I apply it, I can see the lettering on the die through it, that's all you need. BTW, I'm running a 1.4G T-bird on an Asus A7V with a Dr. Thermal HS.... Idle temp is 42C with 33C case temp.

that's right. the BB is what u should put on the heatsink bottom. then, take a TINY bit of that with a credit card edge over to your core. use the credit card to flatten it out thin all over the core. use some plastic wrap around your finger to rub the BB size into your heatsink, until it pretty much vanishes (the bottom of the HS will prolley be a little off-color from its normal).
