Too little contrast

This makes reading hard on my eyes. It would be great if the name of threads was black, or dark blue, or dark something.

Please fix this, it really SUCKS. Not near enough contrast. HURTS MY EYES AS BAD AS ALL CAPS AND THAT IS REAL BAD.

Well, the color scheme can be changed to look like the former. It's up to AnandTech if they want it back.

I like the blue but the gray looks green to me. Probably my end.

I'm on a CRT and the blue looks perfect, maybe it's an LCD and inaccurate color issue y'all are having? ;)

Agreed.

Basically... I like the simplicity of the older one, had more empty space, this one seems like it's trying to toss a color at you in every spot on the screen possible.

It is a bit hard on a few uncalibrated LCDs.

Those of you who are having troubles could use your own stylesheet for this page with some Firefox extension I'm guessing.

Or just adjust gamma a bit. This combo shouldn't be that uncomfortable on a proper setup. The light but distinguished color combo is very easy on my eyes. I agree that an alternative would be nice.

Used to be able to read the lines very fast, now it takes work. I don't like making my eyes work just to read post subjects :( Hopefully we'll get an alternative, something almost exactly like the old one.

That's the thing that has been bothering me. Besides that it's pretty easy on my eyes...

Blue is the hardest color for the eyes to focus on while the red end of the spectrum is the easiest (a lot of web designers seem blissfully ignorant of that fact). Text that one can't ignore should never be in light blue (regardless of the background color), period!

As one with cataracts in both eyes, I can echo all the comments on the light blue text. It would help to just make it a dark blue.

But, as long as we are trying to emulate Office 2007's look, why not do like it does and give us a choice of three color combos?

Colors are terrible. My eyes hurt too.
I have a 19" LCD, not widescreen, and I now have a scroll bar on the bottom of my screen.

Its your monitor. Mine has plenty of contrast. Maybe its time to recycle that 10 year old CRT?

Nope, smarty, it's a new LCD. I'd think they'd give the option of configuring the colors, it's easier than going out and buying a new monitor. As if that would fix the problem. I just prefer things to be very high contrast.

No homer it is the color choice - light blue is the absolute worst for text. No amount of tweaking can fix it. See my earlier post.
