I have a Thunderbird 900 MHz, and the temp is 55c. Is that too high? I think it's ok, but just want to make sure.

hmmm... that is very warm for a k7t pro 2A. That mb undercuts actual core temp by a lot.

Are you using heatsink grease, or the pad?

Don't even know, I had the computer built for me. Would a program like Rain help? Though I'd still like to fix this without using software.

RAIN, CPU idle, and other programs like that only work at "idle". WinME and win2k have a built-in AUT0_HLT command, so that acts as the idle temp "readucer" in those OSs.

SO, IMO, it wouldn't really help since the temperature you really ought to worry about is the Full-Load temp.

Yeah, you're right. so should I really worry about this, I mean, is my CPU going to burn up or cause problems? Or should I get some new CPU fan or something? The temp when it's idle is at 55c, but I've seen it get up 58c.

actually, no 32C for ambient case temp isn't too high... Maybe it is your heatsink.. is there a way for you to find out which heatsink you have on there?

I haven't gotten a reply from them yet, but have noticed that the temp goes to at least 61c when playing Unreal...
